Depending on the price of the camping compared to the hotel its a possibility to add us to that list, but not just yet. We'll prob just be staying for Friday night only. Ill get back to you on that one. Thanx!

I just made reservations at the Howard Johnson Hotel for $84. They are right next to OCC. I would suggest everyone make reservations asap, because once these hotels find out about the meet, they will be bringing their rates up, believe me I used to work at the hilton.

So you can rule me out for the camping, sorry!! So wheres the party at??!!!! WooooHooooo!! Sorry Im a bit excited!:D

$84 for a room and a shower isn't bad at all. Get a couple people in a double-bed room and its super cheap.

subiecutie, did you go through hotwire or one of those places? or did you just call them up?

I found that rate on Orbitz.com but if you book online they charge you an online fee of like $8. So i called up the hotel and gave them the quote for $84 and asked them if they could price match it. And they did. The hotel looks decent too. they show pics on orbitz.

I have updated the first post with who is attending from here. Great attendance so far ladies and gentleman! Meg and John, do you think you can grab Mikey on the way?

I added a pretty banner to link to this thread.

Myself, Margo, Meg and John will be selling raffle tickets while there. What else would we like to do to participate? I was thinking we could ask for food donations around our local areas. I think the normal car guys I hang out with would donate to that way.

SubieCutie, we may end up staying in the same hotel as you.

We will be putting pink M&Ms in baggies with subiegirls.com business cards. These will be put into goodie bags given out at the meet!

Im just sad that i dont think were going to have the subie back by this so we'll prob be showing up in our ........hybrid prius rental.... wauu wauu wauuuuuuuu......... lol.... not cute, very depressing!! i miss the subie......

i wish I could meet you all before this but mondays are not a good day for me at all... My BF goes to school monday nights so Im home w/ the baby, if you guys happen to do a random meet let me know, Ill roll through in the prius!!!! lol just dont laugh.....

Do you NH ladies have to travel through MA to get to where we're going?

I guess this is what a few of the people from mysubie are doing on Sat morning, Its kind of out of the way for us in Worc though, we'd have to go east to meet to then go back west, so im not sure about this, For those who are riding If your taking the pike from east this should be convinient. Just wanted to let others know in case this works for you:

From: Mysubie.com/forum
For western meets we've been meeting at the framingham rest stop on the pike on the WESTBOUND side. If it takes 3.5 hours wanna meet at 7 ish, grab some mcD's/honey dew and leave at 7:15 sharp-ish? Or leave a bit earlier and rest halfway for the wussies

I need 6 volunteers to help with parking and registration for the meet. Is there anyone would can help Rally Armor out? Please let me know.

Also, Rally Armor said that we can put up a Subie Girls test with a table and our business cards. I know some people have contacted Margo about this. Any volunteers for this will also be greatly appreciated.

Hey girls!

It was so nice to meet you guys on Saturday. I have photos and an article about the meet available. The article is a rough draft that I am submitting to the local newspaper, The Times Herald Record. Any feedback at this stage would be great! Photos will be included with the article. Which ones do you like best? Thank you! Hope to hear from you soon.

Photos can be viewed here:

The following is my article so far. Please read and reply! THANK YOU!

On Saturday, August 29th, the 1st Annual All Subaru Meet was held at Orange County Choppers in Newburgh, NY. The event was hosted by OCC along with Rally Armor and The Long Island Subaru Club. The day started off misty and gray, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the Subaru enthusiasts who continued to arrive, eventually numbering over 500 people. As usual, for a Subaru event, the crowd was friendly and dynamic.

As evidenced by the license plates, participants drove in from over 10 different states to be part of the event. We met Subaru people from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maine, Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. Some of the vanity plates were quite memorable. Such as, LILSASIN, WRSX, THE STG, and N CTRL, just to mention a few. This is just another example of how proud we are of our Subarus.

There were many beautiful Subarus on display and in the parking lot throughout the day. It must have been difficult to choose the contest winners. Trophies were awarded in the following classes:
·Best GC Subaru Impreza (1993-2001)
·Best GD Subaru Impreza (2002-2007)
·Best GH/GR Subaru Impreza (2008+)
·Best Forester (All Years)
·Best Legacy (All Years)
·Best Overall Subaru (All Years)

The winners were: (information pending)

This was a charity event to benefit our local Hudson Valley SPCA. The president of HVSPCA, Tom DiCarrado, was there with his wife, Connie, and various volunteers accepting donations and sponsorship applications. They had several handlers mingling in the crowd with some of the loveable animals ready for adoption.

All the vendors on hand donated a percentage of their sales to the no-kill shelter, and the raffle was a huge success due to the generosity of sponsors, such as Subaru, Rally Armor, RIX Magazine, Subie Girls, Konig, Hudson Historics, and Team DI. Pertinent information about these and all vendors can be found at occsubarumeet.com. The kindness of the crowd generated nearly a thousand dollars in donations of money and supplies for the shelter. All in all, it was a great day for the cats and dogs and the people who love them.

Amy, that's a nice article. I'm surprised that with all the people there they only raised $1,000. That was a lot of time and energy for what I think should have easily been more. I hope next year things are a little different for them.

Any fun upcoming events you girls have heard about that I might like to attend? I hope to see some of you ladies at International Rally New York in October. http://www.rallynewyork.net/

To everyone that participated in the All Subaru Meet at OCC:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making this the best attended single manufacturer meet ever held at Orange County Choppers! Over 600 of you came out in support of two very noble not-for-profit organizations, the The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Hudson Valley SPCA (HVSPCA). With nearly 300 Subarus and approximately 55 show cars, it was quite an impressive turnout considering the less than desirable rainy conditions. All of you steadfastly braved the weather to gather as Subaru owners aptly do to share in the camaraderie and take part in this mass gathering of modified to stock Scoobies.

You also demonstrated your generosity and altruism by “driving for the HVSPCA” and loading our All Subaru Meet doghouse with approximately 500 pounds of dry and wet foods, toys and supplies for the Hudson Valley SPCA’s shelter dogs and cats. Packed to the brim, the organization expressed excitement at the outpouring of pet product donations – a supply that would offset its operating expenses for months to come. The HVSPCA brought their well mannered, sweet brood of adoptable dogs and these dogs did not disappoint; they charmed us as they wound their way through the crowds wearing “adopt me” coats. As a result the shelter reported 6 adoption applications. This is a start to a careful evaluation process to place the animals with qualified applicants. We will report on the number of successful adoptions as we obtain more information.

http://photo.pandafactory.org/occ/previewcache/IMG_208980.jpg.resized.jpg

Overall, our collective efforts helped to raise over *$9,775.
From the sales of raffle tickets, All Subaru Meet at OCC tee shirts, goodie tote bags and as a direct result of the support of the sponsors we were able to reach our goal of nearly $10,000!

We owe a great deal of thanks to the folks at Orange County Choppers – namely Storm for working with us to host this event and providing the tours, the Street Life parking crew, and the Hilton Garden Inn for allocating additional lots to us to accommodate more Subarus.

In addition, this event would not have come to fruition without the support of all of our sponsors including Subaru Distributors Corp., Subaru Performance Tuning (SPT), Mid-Hudson Subaru, Konig, MSPT, RallySport Direct, NC Rally, Disc Brakes Australia (DBA), Black Flame Customs, JnJ Associates, JNA Performance, Epic Engineering, H.O.A. Consulting, Sagemind, Broken Motorsports, Meguiar’s, Ultimate Collision Center, Snow Performance, Borla, Hudson Historics, RockStar Energy Drink, Invidia, Innovative Technology Home Products, Precision Plus Contracting for fabricating the doghouse, RIX Magazine, Red Bull, AZP Installs, 0-60 Magazine, Drive Performance Magazine, SubieSport, MTViggy, Team DI, Subiegirls.com, CTSubie.com, Dirtyimpreza.com, CNYSubarus.com.

A big thank you goes out to JB of Black Flame Customs for putting on the car show, getting the word out to the LISC crew, and recruiting so many people out to this meet. Kenny, ChibiSF, was such an integral part of the car show and spreading the news of the event. You two were a driving force behind this.

A big thank you also goes out to Bryan of JnJ Associates who not only helped get people out to OCC but also ran the raffle ticket sales. You were cool under pressure and we could always count on you to remain positive and supportive.

Thank you to our official event photographers Adam of It Was...Beautiful Photography and Jesse of Pandafactory.org (http://photo.pandafactory.org/). See All Subaru Meet photo coverage here, http://photo.pandafactory.org/. You two worked for hours capturing photos. We truly appreciate your hard work.

Thank you to DJ Onda Skillet and MC Slick.

To the crews at Subiegirls.com, CNYSubarus.com, CTSubie.com...thank you for such a strong showing of support.

To all the volunteers:
Without you this event would not have been possible. You worked tirelessly to set up tents and signs, direct traffic, checked people in at registration, sold raffle tickets, tee shirts, assembled the goodie bags, loaded boxes upon bags of pet product donations in to the truck for delivery to the HVSPCA. Several of you arrived bright and early and stayed late in to the evening without a word of complaint.

Thank you to all our volunteers including our friends and family members, we will not forget how incredibly helpful and supportive you were! We look forward to hosting our next event.

On behalf of the Rally Armor Team, we thank you!
