Not sure if you're only in the market for an "i" badge, but there may be a way to remove your stock badges and paint them like the 06/07 models. Have you looked into that yet?

I think people are using the same badges even though they are a tad smaller

I dunno - I am really not fond of the "i" badge in general. Call me retarded, but I love the subaru stars.

I emailed a Japanese company last week (which I can't remember the name right now).....I want the pink stars.....if I can't get them then I will look into painting. Is there a thread on that in NASIOC?

For 06-07 there is. I'm sure the 08-09 thread has come out.

I am not a fan of the "I" either so I took mine off and painted it with the same high heat paint that I did my calipers and rotors with....but...the epoxy I used to put it back on seriously at the paint after like...a month. WHICH ....I might add is kind of weird because my friend megan did her car too with the same brand green paint....with the same epoxy that I use...and it definitely did NOT eat her paint...So now mine looks...kinda orange and rusty??? its lame...gotta re-do it.

I finally did it!! I cleared and painted my badge last night!! :D I really liked how the stock blue one had a carbon fiber look to it...so I figured out a way to make it look a little like carbon to match my hood! I used a small piece of tulle, painted black and stuck with adhesive spray to the inside of the badge, then I painted pink over the back to fill in the gaps. Here are some pics...

Cleared...

Ah, here we go. This is what I thought you did. You must have removed the tulle when you were done? If so, you should throw that into the instructions.

Ooh! Im glad u brought this up! I actually left the tulle inside the badge because we were practicing this several times on a piece of plastic and every time we would remove the tulle, the pink would fade into the lines. Leaving the tulle inside makes the lines much more crisp...

Interesting! Did you try letting the paint dry before pulling it off

^Thanx! :)

^^We let the paint dry, but when we sprayed the black on to make the lines, it just ended up looking faded...

By checking out this thread I learned something new again, I didn't know that there are different sizes. I have both badges, the original black one and the pink one and both are exact the same size.

Here you can buy it in a thousands of shops.

@ SubieQT

I like the carbon fiber look of the badge, that's great  !

Those look really sick. I went lame and got the pink "I" badge. I like the "I" badge.

But i made the subaru stars into a fridge magnet. I did the same to my Impreza badge from when i debadged the trunk.

oooo i like the magnet idea!

Originally I as going to use my front badge as a belt buckle and the timing belt i just took off as a belt, but I don't wear many belts. So I may be magnet if I di-badge the front.

i took out the stock, sanded out the blue with 180 & 220 grit then airbrushed it sti pink :) hahaha. this was back in 2007 when they didnt sell them yet though....however, it was easy, fun to do and cheap.
