1998 SUbaru Legacy Outback - 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
Ive bought this wagon back in Feb of 2010.
First couple of weeks, it drove well, no forseen issues. After those several weeks we started finding patches of oil under the car. Found out it was leaking oil. Didnt really look into that for a bit because we had been super busy at the time.
Then in June, I woke up one morning to find the Outback (or I should say NOT find the Outback) where I had parked it!!! Someone stole my ish!!! Made a police report, waited a couple weeks, it didnt show up. Received a letter from my insurance company telling me that since I did not have comprehensive (which they talked me out of when I first added insurance), they were not going to be sending me any money... which i was already expecting. So I lived a few weeks getting over my outback and back to sharing the STi with Ed, racking miles up on it :(
I got a call a month later from a friend who drives a tow truck asking me if my Outback had a Subigirls vinyl on it. I immediatly jumped up and ran out the door asking him where did he see it! Found it abandoned about 4 streets down from my old place! Thanks WPD for doing such a dilligent job recovering stolen cars in our city!
Only thing that was taken from it was my momo shift knob, my vanity mirror cover, and a couple bootleg burnt from my computer CD's... idiots... assholes, douchebags, etc, etc....
So now back to my Outback with the leaking oil issues. Found out that it was leaking oil from the oil pump, valve cover gasket, and the rear main seal!
Eventually it starting smoking, and two weeks ago it sputtered out on me as I was leaving my driveway. Time to take it apart! Ed took the motor out in 3 hours, yayy Ed!! To find that I had been putting too much oil in it and the intake was full of oil! (will post the pics later) No wonder it died, it couldn't breathe!! So he decided to put in the other legacy motor we have. He replaced all of the gaskets except for the head gaskets, which looked to be in good condition. This motor looked much cleaner and in much beter shape than mine. Couple days later I get a call from my Man, telling me well, i got the motor in, started it up, and found a bad oil leak in the rear main seal!! waaaaahhhhh! Now Im ready to cry! I want my car!! So now he has to take the motor back out, remove the clutch and flywheel to replace the rear main seal. So another week with no car... Im just aggravated with it, I wanna puch it down a cliff at this point  And my poor baby has been working hard on his days off to try and fix this thing... Lets keep our fingers crossed hoping that this is the last time he has to remove the motor again!!
So heres a few pics of the outback. I have to attach them cuz Im at work and SSA blocks everything!
