So I had a very interesting experience this Monday. I almost scored an STi at the McGee Chevy dealer... until upon me getting there, and making a deposit they jacked the price 3 grand. I arrived there Monday evening, test drove it and the scummy sales guy said his "GM" wouldn't budge on the price. Even though the day prior the price was firm, 3g's lower. Their shady internet prices; on their website along with 3 others all were all a scam.

Mind you, I had brought my friends (1 of which was a Subie mechanic and has owned a rex & an STi, and his gf who owns an STi). The dealership started to throw BS at us saying that the vehicle was not meant to be driven in rain or snow... YET, I just returned from a test drive in the *RAIN*.

I checked their name on the BBB - guess what - 14 complaints have been made. I'm totally going to be their 15th, this was ridiculous!!!

That's too bad. I would def. put in a complaint. I will tell you though, they probably have a disclaimer somewhere on their website about the vehicle not including fees. Just saying.

Sounds like your brought Theo and Sam with you. Am I right?!? :D

I did look for the fine print... no disclaimers and such. Buncha dummies, I tell ya!

Originally when I called to inquire about it being in their lot still... the sales guy even asked me if I knew how to drive a stick. LOL! and then proceeded to tell me about the really big square wing on the back on the car. In his face when I asked him if it was a 5 speed or a 6 speed. HAHAHA...

I brought my backup, yep! hahahaha... Good friends Keith an Katie.

In defense of the sales guy - if he's not at a Subaru dealer it's not that big of a deal he doesn't know how many speeds the car has.

Fine print is on: http://www.mcgeechevyma.com/PreOwnedVehicleSearch

Prices do not include additional fees and costs of closing, including government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any dealer documentation fees, any emissions testing fees or other fees. All prices, specifications and availability subject to change without notice. Contact dealer for most current information

That disclaimer unfortunately covers there asses for a lot. "Other fees" could be anything.

I'm glad that you brought a mechanic with you to look at it.

My honest opinion is if that 06 STI is seriously selling for $10,987 at a dealer you should RUN away from it. Even for the $3K more they were telling you it was for sale price when you went in, I recommend being VERY leary of an 06 at $14K from a dealer.

I've seen private sales go cheap on cars that need minor maintenace and the owner is desperate and just has to let it go. And that is far and few between.

Ah, I was thinking "wow, what a small world." Have you told Katie about the website?!? :)

I discussed the price on their website, they claimed it was "an error by the data entry individual" blah blah blah...
On Sunday, they said 18g's firm when I went there. There's a lot more junk they threw at me, just super peeved at the whole ordeal.

Yea, I have told them about the site... of course! Lol.

No clue if Katie's signed up... I've put a bug in her ear, though.
She has a Subiegirls.com sticker on her STi. :)

Yeah, they have bad customer service. That's too bad.

Thanks for letting her know. Glad she's got vinyl! :)
