So, I'm going to a bachelorette party tonight.. and we are taking a pole dancing class!!!
I'm kinda nervous, but I'm all so wicked excited!
they have like stripper clothes that you can wear.. but I think I'm just going to stick with my Yoga clothes! haha!
Wish me luck!:D

Try wearing shorts - you stick to the pole better.

That sounds like a lot of fun and could be a great meet idea. Are you doing that in the Boston area?

it was at Gypsie Rose on Boylston St.
I have to say that it was a lot of fun! I really wasn't a fan of the whole going spread-eagle.. but eh.. I like the pole better then the chair dance!
it was $40 a person for 1.5 hours. and they give you clothes and soes to use. I didn't wear my yoga clothes and I kind of regret it. the selection of clothing was really not that great, and I really wasn't comfotable with what I wore.
I will say that I would do it again! I think it wouls be an awsome idea for a meet!
BTW.. out teacher was only 19... but damn was she hot!!!
tommy - no.

I am resisting the urge to make some obnoxious comment because I picture Sarah, Megz and Hale at my door within an hour to kick my ass. lol

LOL....
We were supposed to do that for a bachelorette as well, but we had a few "Debbie Downers" who were whining about wearing skimpy clothes....so we had to can the idea.
I would love to do that......I'm sure Limey would appreciate it as well.....he's probably running downstairs to install a pole.

i'm about 150% sure that this is the first time i've EVER seen you make an actual rational decision and keep your mouth shut.... lol
you girls have fun with your pole meet.... maybe us guys should create a subiegirls guy meet, too. (nothing too bad... we'll make a permission form for those of you with a significant other... lol)

Bump from the dead. Wow time flies...
I just finished up a 4 week class closer to home than Boston. I bought it through localdeal.com. It was a ton of fun. But I fell last night on ice and skipped the last class.
It was actually really hard and requires a lot of strength. Which I do not have.
Still a good meet idea.

Back from the dead...
Last sunday I thought id see how hard it is to maneuver a dancer pole.
Damn the ish is hard lol...
My friend has a pole at her condo that has high ceilings, ofcourse the manly man in me was like... if she can do it, you can do it... im athleticly built and fairly flexable so I though for sure I could do it.
Nope, could even climb to the ceiling because I kept slipping lol...
Basic training was always about never giving up... but this... this thing... this dancer pole broke me down...
She laughed ofcourse and I was a broken man...
I have no idea how those girls or you girls do it. Hat is off

Make the bromance watch him, it can be boys night. lol
There's a place about 5min. from me that teaches it. But I'm so not gonna even attempt that. Most of my weight is in my lower body (muscle) so watching that woman flip on that pole in the video made me imagine myself trying the same and falling flat on my face maybe halfway up. :( The only foreseeable way I could stay on a pole is with my legs. I'm also not a huge fan of wearing spandex anymore.
But you east coasters have fun and tease those guys! :D

That video from MD is pretty good. It shows some good examples of the true arm and core strength it takes to go on the pole.
Here's one of my favorite videos. They are dancers (no clothing removed in this vid), but I can't help love the sexy halloween costumes. ;)
At 2:58 the girl flips herself over a railing with her arms from a sitting position. I want to be that strong!

I did some googling on classes in the seattle area. they do parties... they aren't cheap due to the fact that there is a deposit necessary but there was one studio that does have a home party option for those who aren't comfy in a studio setting.
They'll bring the pole to you!

Hey Sarah, that girl pulling herself over the bar from sitting; We used to have to do that in gymnastics when I was in high school. From standing though, still, hardest thing EVER.
hmm the few friends I've talked to said it wasnt that expensive. I'll have to ask her tomorrow where they went. haha.
PinkTWRX
02-17-2011, 02:22 AM
individual classes range from $20-40 per.... parties have $80-100 deposit and it's $20-40 per person on top of that. minimum 4 people. i checked 4 different sites.

oh damn that is sorta pricey. I'll ask my friend tomorrow.
