Why does this anger the women?
Ummm... I think the point is just that it's not pleasant to look into the toilet. And it doesn't "anger" me.

1) Did you forget where you were when you typed that? 2) That's a horrible stereotype. And if you took the trash out a) on your own or b) the first time you were asked, tv and video games wouldn't be interrupted.

So you don't look before you sit down anywhere?
:p
Its just commom courtesy. Would you like it if your girl/friend took your car out for a ride and left the windows rolled down when they returned it? Orrrr if a buddy used your nicely organized tool box and just threw them all back in the toolbox w/o organizing them neatly as they had been. Same kinda thing, its just annoying and rude. Why should we have to put the seat down for ya'll when ya'll had put it up? So lets break it down in 3 simple steps for you guys.....
1) Pee & shake
2) Flush (which I hope you do)
3) push the seat back down
Voila! DONE!! :p

Ya know before I started potty training my boys it only bugged me at night, lights are off and I'm tired, I do not want to fall in. LoL Then I started potty training my 3 boys and they pee all over everything, I do not want to see that. I do clean the toilet daily, but in between those times I don't want to see their little pee markings everytime I go in to the bathroom, ya know. So I am teaching them to 1 wipe up after themselves (rearly happens) and 2 put the seat down (this is easier for them so it happens more often).

1. If it's in my house...no I don't look generally when I sit down at night, i'm barely awake. 2. I don't need to see Man pubes and pee drips when I walk into a bathroom because men don't ever wipe the seat down after they are done.
3...if we MUST come to some sort of middle ground then no matter who goes to the bathroom all lids must be put down. Therefore the woman is lifting and putting down a lid as well. This is also beneficial if you have pets because then no one will sit in toilet water due to the kitty playing in the toilet.

Speaking of toilets why do Women never clean up after themselves in a public bathroom? I understand some women wanting to use TP or seat protectors but if your going to squat to pee I don't understand why you can't clean up your mess afterward.
I'm not saying the women here do it, but there are woman that do it at work and leave pee all over the seat. It's gross and unneccessary as it's proven the germs don't last in the bathroom once they come into contact with Air and your kitchen has more germs than the bathroom usually.

Like mon said, it's common courtesy, we don't want to touch that seat when their dry pee and nasties on it from you missing. Also I think its just as rude when you use the rest of the toilet paper and don't replace it. Hey if you say we overreact for the seat being up, I'm sure you'd be pissed if you were taking a dump and didn't have any toilet paper lol. I have fallen in twice, both were because I had to pee really Freakn bad.
Imprezarose- I see that crap all the time, it's so frustrating. I figure if you don't do it at home, don't do it somewhere else.

1. If it's in my house...no I don't look generally when I sit down at night, i'm barely awake.
I can respect this and I do flip all lids down when I'm over a lady's house. However, the street goes both ways. If you come over a guys house and leave the seat down in the middle of the night and wake up to some piss splatter on it, you only have yourself to blame for that one.
Just like you all, when guys stagger to the bathroom at 3am aiming in that hole isn't as easy as you lady's like to think it is, and making it harder for us with the seat down is only gonna be bad for you in the end. :p
2. I don't need to see Man pubes and pee drips when I walk into a bathroom because men don't ever wipe the seat down after they are done.
The pubes part.... uhh... sounds like someone needs to do some manscaping.
The pee drips, well, sometimes the damn thing just gets a mind of its own and does its own thing. If the dude doesn't clean up after though that's just gross haha.

I have a stupid cat, so the lid is always down. Don't want no stupid ass cat tearing around the house soaking wet with toilet water.

This reminds me of a sign I saw in a public restroom:
"Our aim is to keep this bathroom clean. Your aim will help."
There's an easy solution to all of this. Guys just need to sit down to pee.:lol::lol:

Subie-Erin- I had a roommate that if he sat down to pee he ended up peeing out the crack between the seat and the bowl and somehow not realizing it. TWICE we woke up to a puddle of pee on the bathroom floor. My husband made him clean it up. I wont even get into how many times that roommate clogged the toilet and how hard it was to unclog (ended up needing a wetvac to create enough suction to unclog it) Nastiest morning of my life.

Oooooo that's unfortunate. You make me rethink my previous statement! Key phrase from that story = "had" a roommate? :D

OHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAA....he's goooonnnneeeee....THANK GOD too. Man he used to do so much crap that just pissed off my husband.
We have another roomate but this one is my husbands best friend and he works nights and keeps the house pretty clean. My husbands only had a couple incidents where he's been irritated.

I remember my G-ma having that sign in her bathroom when I was growing up. I want one for my bathroom, I mean I am the only girl in a house of 4 boys, their aim would be a HUGE help! LoL
Install something to fill the gap between the seat and the lower part of the toilet. Then sit and do your stuff. It's pretty common for guys to sit in europe, makes for much less of a mess.

Grew up with multiple sisters. Can't imagine putting the seat down as a non-habit. Only exception is public restrooms. Leaving it up means less guys hosing down the seat.
Girls that get mad at their boyfriends for stuff like this are girls that don't know how to get what they want.
