Some of you may have read on FB about my cars recent experience, here's the full story.
My husband took my car up to our cabin in Id near Yellowstone for a guys weekend. He took my car over his due to mine getting mileage and his not having a radio. Not a big deal. He picked a guy up locally and meet and ID friend just South of the cabin. The other guy had a big Chevy truck. They turned down the snowpacked normally dirt road. The truck was in the lead. Then the got the the end of the plowing adn there was an 6-8ft bank of snow. The guys got out and got a better look, the bank went up then dropped back down right away to about 4ft on snow. Eric and the guy in my car said there was no way to drive all the way to the cabin and Eric would snowshoe in, get a snowmobile and then pack the guys and the stuff back to the cabin. But the truck guy having a 4x4 said he could make it. He would not listen to the fact the snow was as hard as it would be as it was 10pm and it was still pretty soft. He was going to sink in if the guys were sinking in 6-9in. But he wouldn't listen and went for it. He didn't get far and backed out, then gunned it, getting stuck and high centered. He was not willing to listen at all. Eric said to leave the truck they wold deal with it in the light of day, but no, he wanted it out now. He pulled out some ratcheting ties and hooked them up after being told they would not hold. Sure enough they slid right out. So he tied them to the truck and my car. It only have them about 6ft between them. Eric pulled and pulled and got the truck out, but after getting unstuck the truck guy gunned it in reverse smashing into my front bumper. Looked out his window and snickered. Eric was sure my bumper was trashed and my radiator was history he hit so hard. After getting out and checking it out the bumper appeared to be ok. No dents, creases or major damage. They left the cars and made it to the cabin. On their way home Eric noticed a little bit of scuffing on the bumper. The other guy still played it as no big deal.
When they got home I pointed out where there was more than just a little scuffing, a huge strip of paint missing from inside the bumper. In fact I saw that before I really noticed the scuffing due to all the bugs covering the scuff.
I al livid that this guy thought it funny that he hit my car. He's lucky Eric was willing to pull his dumb ass out. I mean, his big truck needed the help of a little car on a slick, snow covered road! LoL Go Subie, Go!
After this I'm not sure Eric is going to be allowed to drinve my car! LoL He buggered up the rear-driver's side quarter panel and bumper backing out of the drive way and now he messed the front bumper! haha After the last incedent he said I would get a paint job, that didn't happen due to bills being more important. But now I think I will hold him to it. He is no longer talking to the ass that hit my car as there were more issues at the cabin that pissed him off so I can't expect him to help pay for it. Though I'm debating calling him myself and telling him what I think and that I shoudl get some compensassion as I am trying to make my car nice and little things like that are holding me back and I am no happy!
I'll get pix later.
