What mod do you consider the BEST you have done to your car? I am talking just interior or exterior. It can be aesthetic or performance.
Mine is aesthetic. I put 02 WRX seats into my 95LX... boy what a difference! Even though I lost the full passthrough.... STILL - its so much more comfortable.

Performance: Cobb Stage 2 w/ catless turbo back
By far the best/most enjoyable performance mod combo. Oh, or my new suspension. Hmmm...
Aesthic: I think it's a tough decision. I'd either have to say STi hoodscoop or STi goldies. Ooooor, the suspension. Yeah, Goldies look great with the car lowered.

my fav mod is my subiegirls vinyl and sailor moon vinyl :) haha i havent done anything else yet. im getting an spt intake sunday though :-D
Performance: Has to be the new Bryan Crower 272 cams. I love the extra rumble it adds to the unequal length headers sound. And ESPECIALLY love the extra torque it gave us!
Exterior: The carbon fiber trunk, it gives the subie's ass an extra sexy mean look!

and now i can say my fav mod is an spt intake since its the only thing ive done to it! (well, i should say dan has done to it since he put it on for me yesterday haha)
I guess my favorite mod would have to be the guage pod I made for my 02 WRX. It was before Auto Meter made one, so I made one out of fiberglass that put the AM to shame. Other than that, I've got to say my remote starter. Winter warmth high-five!

Why dont u go w/ coilovers? I felt these really made a huge difference in the handling and thats just w/ bc racing coilovers and whiteline front swaybar links alone. Im sure w/ what u have and coilovers youl be ready to tear that track up no prob!! ;)

Actually they arent that bad I have a 13 month old boy myself so i know what u mean I dont want to rattle him to pieces lol, and I live in the city known for the most gaddamn potholes in the U.S. lmao, but you can def adjust them to not be so tight and when u do want the hard suspension you can just adjust them back, best of both worlds lol!! And if you think about it these save u $$ in the long run. With srpings ur struts wear out so at first you buy the springs lil while down the road you have to replace the clunking struts, then its a back and forth thing. W/ the coilovers you dont have to worry about any of that, And most of them come w/ a lifetime warranty. So with the money ur gonna spend every few yrs on replacing springs and struts you could go w/ the coilovers and when its time to replace its just $100 a piece. ;) ... just a thought.

I really have to say that all the mods made are my favorite. The one that made the mods even better is my Cobb AP (stage 2). The one thing I did to make that even better was the Grimmspeed Electronic Boost Control Solenoid.
I see you all are talking about remote starts. I had it in a couple of previous cars. It's great. I hope you all have autos... because it takes more to install one in a manual.
i haven't done much as i'm trying avoid warranty issues, but so far i think adding a short shifter and firmer shifter bushings has made a world of difference. i don't know what the stock shifter is like in other subarus, but the one on the 2009 WRX is terrible.

Mon, what do you guys have done to the car again? B/C normally a Subaru has to be REALLY built up to need a turbo timer. Not that lots of people don't have them. Just saying. Do research, it may be money better spent. ;)

Not necessarily Sarah. If you're an aggresive driver (such as myself) you'll heat the turbo pretty good and if you're as impatient as my hubby, you're not gonna want to wait in the car as it cools. I plan on getting one soon, but until then I don't mind waiting but it is a pain in the butt.
umm.... theres alot but the main engine mods would be:
Forged rods & pisting
FP green Turbo
FMIC
272 Cams
Catless up&down pipe
850 cc injectors
walbro 255 Fuel pump
Manual boost control
'07' Sti cylinder heads
'09' Sti oil pump
Custom tune
Would this qualify us as needing a turbo timer? lol From what ed has been saying since he finished the work on it, is that we NEED to let the turbo cool before turning off the car.. so I would think this would apply to us?
We are both very aggresive drivers and very impatient as well lol...

I'm not sure how "built" the car needs to be but it's clearly pretty worked on. Stock/lightly modded Subarus don't need a tt.

Best mod to date has been the Accessport. I'm just running the OTS 93 octane map, but it does feel like it has made a slight difference. Throttle response is a lot smoothier. It pulls harder in 3rd-5th gear, and boost is up.
Plus it comes with that awesome monitoring ability so you can keep tabs on things. I mounted it on the dash on the useless cupholder.
But i'm just starting to modify her, so more to come...

If you're looking around at these, take a peek at the Viper 5901. It's a full alarm with the other features you're talking about, and can be found online for less than the insane MSRP listed on Viper's site, so don't let that scare you off right away. I have one, and love it, although I don't use the turbo timer feature unless i just want to run inside for a few minutes and don't want the car to get cold, but still want to lock it up. :D The remote's range is excellent, and I only have to charge it (via mini-USB, consequenly the same charger as my GPS and phone!) once a month. No batteries to change! (well, the spare remote that doesn't have the little screen uses batteries you have to change, but I have yet to use that one at all) [/plug] ;)
Back on topic:
My best mod that I feel is unique and really fits the car: my full interior blackout
Most useful right now: the wheels I painted and then got some good snow tires for...
In the future, I'll probably feel any suspension mods I do (swaybars and springs) will be the best :D
Ya I was looking into the viper 5901, some guy was selling it on nasioc for $350 I thought it was a steal, almost bought it until some other guy let me know you can get them way cheaper elsewhere! Thanks to that guy! But yes I think this is the one we will be going for, Cant wait!

Putting a set of Outback Limited alloy wheels and 205/55 HR16 tyres on a gutless 1996 Legacy L. I was surprised how much better the initial turn in was improved, and the polished alloy wheels, while a bit gaudy, did improve the look of the car.

Asthetically, I crashed my car into a wall and had to get the whole front end redone. It's not really a 'mod' per say, but it made me get my car repainted and it looks incredible now. haha. And the sti scoop and splitters were a plus. ;)

Have you seen the cost of the replacement remotes??? I have the same system. The manual process is a PITA because of the steps you have to go thru every time you get out of the car. As soon as you unlock your car to get something it disables the remote start. So I just left mine in automatic praying I never forget to leave it in gear...

I haven't had the pleasure of needing to look up a replacement remote *knocks on wood*
After a week or two of winter weather, I got used to the shutdown procedure to set the remote start...parking brake, let go of brake pedal, push a button on the remote, and turn off car. To get around messing with it if i forgot something in the car and still wanted to be able to start it later, I'd start it with the button, unlock & open it to get stuff, close the door and lock it, then hit the remote starter to shut it back off. Voila! It's still set to start up remotely next time :)

Subarus bolt in turbos are watercooled. Watercooled turbos do not need a turbo timer. When you go rotated setup the turbo you would use may not be water cooled its just oil lubricated. Then you would need a turbo timer.
My best mod was the $500 we spent on the dyno tune!! Thanks Dom at MPS!
