Snow season is right around the corner!

I have been talking to a couple Subiegirls and we thought it would be nice to get a group of us together to meet at a Mountain and all ride together one day!

I couldn't even stand up on the snowboard :( I then proceded to take ski lessons and could actually get down the hill on those (falling occasionally along the way hehe) I think I would do better on the snowboard if I took lessons. My fiance isn't a very patient teacher...

I've only done 4 trips, but have taught 2 other people how to ride and make it down to the bottom without spending too much time on their butts.

Just takes a little patience. Swallow your pride and have some fun.

I always recommend lessons. I switched from skiing (had lessons) to snowboarding (no lessons but rode with my local shop guys) and I still wish I did lessons for a snowboarding.

Although, I think I switched to boarding when I was too old - so the idea of hurting myself prevented me from doing tricks. But I bc I rode with my shop guys I was pretty aggressive at cruising in college. Now I just take it slow and putt along.

As far as staying the night - Sarah mentioned that - i think its deff looking into, and if we share a room say a few girls to a room it would cut down on cost. (i cant afford a room alone)

so how about next steps are:
1) pick a mountain
2) pick date
3) have discussions on who is staying overnight and who is just going for the day, etc

I may be interested for a late mid to late February trip. I hear Smuggler's Notch is amazing (but I hear this about most places in VT). So, I would be interested in either Mt. Snow, Smuggler's Notch, or Killington. Although, Killington is pretty expensive for a day pass ($~80). I am tellin' ya ladies, come to Maine!!

Before we pick a location..... Why don't we see if we know anyone who has a place we can rent. I had a friend whose co-worker gave us a great deal on a huge house on a weekend in Feb and it was right down the street from Sunapee.

Personally, a huge house at a good price is way more important to me that location.

I also know of condos for rent in the resort of Sugarloaf, Maine and the price includes a 5-day lift pass. These condos are amazing, because there is a pick up lift as soon as you walk outside. I have sent details to MoN, so she can agree that the price is well worth the trip up there. We could also do a caravan if more are interested. The trip is scheduled January 29th - February 3rd. I have done this trip for the past 2-3 years and it's amazing. I believe the week pass is also good for a sister mountain that is 3-hours away.

The house I was talking about is available for a few weekends in january feb and march but need to be booked soon because slots are running out... let me know who is down if you are still looking to go for the weekend. 310 from 350 a night X's 2 nights is the rate the lady gives me. (620) divided by 10 girls for example is 62 dollars a person for two nights 31 a night. since we are repeat renters she gives us a deal. its a nice 5 bedroom house with indoor fireplace outdoor hot tub, and everything a house has to offer, so even if people dont go skiing or snowboarding, they wont be bored in a dinky small hotel room.

The mountain is wildcat, not a really popular mountain but its perfect for people who are just begining and people who already know what they are doing. In addition, I have organized many ski trips in the past and this is the most cost affective way as opposed to a hotel. Stopping off at the liquor store and a market basket along the way for groceries and boos divided amongst all of us may bring the total of the trip to 100 a person for food and accomadations...wheras if we were in a hotel and forced to go out to eat, it may be pricier.

Even the cheapest boarding option in a Hotel thats 99 night divided by 4 people crammed in a room =25 person x's 2 nights= 50 for boarding alone.

i will post pics up in the next post..... here are the available dates....and if ur asking why 2 nights its a 2 night min...

Ok so im gna start this now, January is out because as sarah states its the 48 hrs of tri-state event being held that same weekend and i dont want to exclude anyone... so back to feb and march.... lets get a poll going and end it by tommorow so we can finalize a date in order to put a deposit down so we can guarantee the place.....

I say either the 10th-11th feb, or first wknd in march....both work well for me... how bout everyone else? now's the time to chime in....


PLEASE NOTE.... ONCE A DATE HAS BEEN PICKED I WOULD NEED to put a DEPOSIT of HALF the money down, the rest can be paid 2 weeks prior to arrival. So this means i must have 31 per person as a deposit....and thats assuming we have ten def. as of now i will make a list....please add to it with the dates that you would prefer and i guess majority wins??? please add to this with any comments, because i am taking opinions. I certainly do not want to come off as this being My event but just trying to make a trip happen for us girls :) and mayb guys... something I didnt even consider...oops !

In addition, I think due to alot of people sharing the same interest of the winter season (skiing and snowboarding), not only do i think this is going to be a fun get together for all of us but as well as a chance for everyone to really get to know eachother and just have fun !! I wouldnt mind guys being there i just dont know as to how the group thinks of that idea. please wait and see what insight we get from the group to proceed with that answer because i dont want to make a decision on behalf of everyone.

As for your attendance I would put your name on the list so that way we can get an idea of how many people are coming, if people are maybes depending on how many people are coming depending on cost and dont put their name up, it would be hard to estimate a cost per person.

on a side note, if guys are allowed, there is one small asian munchkin i would like to extend an invite to, only because when theres alcohol involved, hes a fun character to be around :) thats all.

Lift tickets are each attendee's responsibility to purchase. You can check out the link to wildcat listed above for more detailed pricing and info. Each person may choose how many days and tickets they need. Some may want to go for half days, full days, all days or no days.....but we need the list of definates....so that we can calcualte an accurate price for deposits, I'm afraid if I don't get the deposits, I may cancel, because currently she is holding 500 dollars of my money on a credit card I gave the landlord. Thank you khahn, angela and amy for deposits but unfortunately, with only 3 payments plus mine, I am not able to keep the reservation with the faith that everyone will send their deposits to me . Seeing as this is a non-refundable booking fee, I will not accept your paypal requests until I have everyone on the list or atleast more than 3 people send me the funds (sigh).....I think this is only fair to you guys, since I dont want to take anyone's money without a justifiable reason.

So again, for those of you who have not already done so, please send me the paypal amounts to solidify this reservation. Other wise I am forced to cancel the reservation.... As of now it is way beyond past the 48 hrs the verbal hold the rental comapny had promised me and now pending a payment. Even though I am a previous renter, ski homes are desirable and go fast and I cant have the company trust "my word" and keep those dates open for me when they could be renting it to someone else without hesitating.

Although I really want to attend the holiday dinner because in the past few years the time spent with everyone is so much fun, I can not have a positive answer regarding my attendance until sat morning. As of now I am working until 8 pm on sat , however, if I could get my work done early I can shoot up there real quick:)

I payed the remaning balance last week in full with the faith that everyone commited to the trip would pay for their part, and rght now im holding up my personal funds because of this. sigh:(
