My 07 wrx has been burning quite a bit of oil in the last few months. Took it to a local dealer who gave us the run around and wanted at least 3 hours worth of labor paid for pulling spark plugs "because it is labor intensive". Did a compression test and the drivers side bank is at 110. Passenger side is 130. I'll be making some calls tomorrow to figure out the next step and how well this warranty holds up.

Wait, so cylinders 1 & 3 are at 110 and 2 & 4 are at 130?

Yep. We've suspected something for a while so we did the test.

I just had to do a head rebuild and was looking at around $1300.

Your warranty isn't going to cover a modded engine.

Compression numbers shouldn't differ by more then 7. Anything over 140 indicates a problem.

Do a leak down test.

Warranty was issued at the time of purchase (post mods). Eveything it has came on it. Nothing has been done to it since we bought it. We have 12 months/12,000 mile warranty coverage as the car sits because it's an aftermarket warranty.

Thanks! It's felt like forever but it's really only been like 2 weeks :-) I'm just going to make up excuses to go places so I can drive it!

Awesome! He feels so strong now. I guess I didn't realize the weakness until he was at full strength!
