I don't think it's on Speed, that whole channel's reserved for f-ing NASCAR. BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Yea, except it's not entirely true... i saw this story a couple of months ago on HT. Cool story though.

The "Rally America" class isn't part of the WRC. However the cars in the class raced on the same stages as the WRC. The pro classes are WRC, P-WRC, and the WRC Cup, then there is the Rally America class.

He came in 3rd in a group of 9, four of which didn't finish and one of which didn't count, so 3rd out of 4. Bill Caswell's final time was 5:15:18. To put this in perspective, Loeb's time was 3:42:41.7 and the slowest of the professionals was 4:38:31.7.

Rally America / Rally Mexico standings:
1st - Ricardo Triviño (MEX) - Peugeot 206 - 4:08:15.4
2nd - Francisco Name (MEX) - Mitsubishi DE - 4:56:04.6
3rd - David Jassan (MEX) - Mitsubishi Evo IX - 5:15:50.8
4th - William Caswell (USA) - BMW - 5:15:18.4
5th - Guillermo Fonseca (MEX) - Peugeot 206 - 5:53:48.1
6th - Jorge Gonzalez (MEX) - Peugeot 206 - DNF
7th - Guillermo Campos (MEX) - Clio Sport - DNF
8th - Guillermo Sanchez (MEX) - Clio Sport - DNF
9th - Pablo Gutierrez (MEX) - Mitsubishi Evo IX - DNF

To say this guy competed against WRC Pros is akin to a bracket racer racing at NHRA National Event and saying he was going up against John Force. Same track - not near the same class.

WRC results are here:

(but you wont find Rally America results here since it's not a WRC class)
