Hi, I'm Amy and I'm from the Cincinnati/N.Ky area. I was just informed about this site and I am looking forward to getting to know you girls. I have been messing around with cars for 10-12 years now and even though I don't do it as much as I would like, I still love it.
On to the fun stuff. I have had 5 Subies since 2006 and currently still have 2 of them. At one point in time my husband and I had three of them at once but after having back surgery I went with something a little more comfy and an auto as my daily driver.
My Daily- 05 G35x Auto. It is the very first auto car I have ever owned and to be honest I love it, it is the perfect daily. It is pretty stock but I have modded it some with OEM coupe/350z parts. Oh and I always have a little bit of Subie on me b.c my summer tires are the OEM 08 STI Dunlops off of Tony @TiC's car. :D

Crappy cell pic but it shows the subtle roof spoiler I put on a few weeks back.

The Toy - 99 v5 STI swapped RS. I have had this about a year and a half now and during that time it was down for about 10 months with a trashed 2nd gear. It has been up and running like a champ since Feb '09 an I love it.

AWESOME RSTi!!! welcome to our forum :-D what was wrong with the 08 wrx?
Thanks.
I should have never bought the car, it started out bad . My sales guy, who is awesome, was out of town, that should have been a sign. It was brought down from Chicago b.c it was the only black premium, non navi around. Well the guy who went to get it got back in town late and took it home instead of bringing it to the dealership so it wasn't there when we went to pick it up. It finally showed up 4 hours later and it was scratched all over, it had a nasty haze everywhere and there were a handful of dents on the car. This was after they washed it and everything. I refused to buy it and they called me back a few hours later to say they had the dent guy come out and I went to look at it. It was better but still not great, so I left again. Finally I came back and they had it professionally detailed and it looked good. That was my mistake b.c a couple weeks later it looked like crap again and I found more dents, thankfully they had those pulled too.
So I finally bought it about 9 hours after I was supposed to have picked it up. The major thing with the 08 WRX was that it was always in the shop. I had all the parts from my LGT and the WRX was Stage 2 Protuned by Tim Bailey but he couldn't get it to put down the numbers it should have. A week or two later I started popping codes and it turns out that the stock placement of the 02 wires is right between the shifter and the driveshaft, well the driveshaft ate through the wires. They replaced the rear 02 but then the front had to be replaced and that didn't solve the problem. They eventually found out that it created a mini fire in the ECU and it burnt up the ECU circuit. There was also an issue with the steering rack, it wouldn't keep an alignment and the steering wheel would shake violently over bumps. This caused the tires to bounce like basketballs for a few seconds and there was no control over when it would do this.
The final straw was when I read about the 09 WRX coming out and how all the problems with my 08 were fixed and they added power. I got rid of it before they came out so that I wouldn't take an even bigger hit on it then I already was.
CN: Bad buying experience, car was always in the shop, the 09's came out and fixed the problems so I sold it before I would have taken an even bigger hit then I did.

Live and learn. I didn't really want the WRX, I wanted an STI but my husband said no. LOL He is a car guy b.c of me, but thought that it was too much to spend on one car. Now instead we have 3 cars. lol
Wow nice line up, I ESPECIALLY like that LGT wagon!!:D
Thanks, I really wish that I kept it. It is truly the only car that I miss.

Welcome, sucks about the 08 but your better to be rid of it thats for sure! We bought an 08 WRX and had a lot of issues with it too. 3/4 struts were leaking and they didnt want to replace them because they said it was to new for that to happen, and the paint on the 08 was crappy at best - the car had like 2000 miles on it and there were about 20chips in the hood on the doors & roof, the Nav/radio took a shit after about 2 months and the blower motor made some whining annoying noise when you would turn it up past 3 - drove us nuts! Plus we learned after we bought it that the 09 was going to be quicker, so it was like a kick in the D*** for my hubby. It was a pain in the ass, but it all worked out because we got Subaru assistance to trade us out of the 08 & got an 09 - which he hasnt had any problems with so far. I was waiting to get an STI myself but my husband said no,no,no also so I decided on a WRX. I had been hearing that the 2010 1/2 WRX will come with a 6-spd but when I ordered my 2010 wrx wht hatch it came in much quicker than expected so 5-spd is fine with me - I love the white and it was worth the wait :) I cant wait until January because all of our parts should be in and we both are getting tuned! Good luck with your rides & welcome again!
