Quote from Sean at Swift on CSC:

"Hey everyone!

It is getting to be that time of year again. Christmas is right around the corner and once again Swift Performance is a sponsor of the Toys For Tots program and will be a drop off point. With how I grew up I know that it sucks to not have a lot (if anything) under the tree on Christmas morning. We want to keep that from happening for as many children as we can!

I would like to ask a favor of all of you (and we are going to try to make it worth your while). We would like to ask that from now until the week before Christmas you put off getting coffee one to two times a week and instead put that $4-$ aside. By Christmas this would be about $50.

As an incentive to you we are going to throw this out there...Starting December 1st, we will be giving out gift certificates for free dyno time to anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy (or toys) worth $50 or more. For the group or car club who donates the most, we will offer a dyno day with up to 5 cars free and food provided by us in the spring (a 400$ value).

If you guys can, please spread this around to as many places as you can. Even if it is just copy/paste to any of the other forums you are on it would be much appreciated. Together we can make it a great Christmas for some less fortunate children here in CT.

Thanks for all your help and support!
Sean, Swift Performance Automotive
860-823-1909"

I just wanted to post this since I think this is an AWESOME program that people have been donating too for the past few years. Please have a heart and come help kids who may not get presents this year wake up and find something under the tree!!

Subie Girls has organized a pancake breakfast and cruise to support the Swift Toys for Tots drive! We've started posting it on other local forums so please help and do the same!

We look forward to getting together for this good cause.

So look at what sarah's friend "Dusty" from Swift Performance posted on mysubie after i told him to add us as a group for this event....

RE: Toys for Tots Event
"Dusty B wrote: Just a reminder for everyone.. It's fast approaching, and we've got subiegirls support behind us now too!"

I dunno if this is a warning to other clubs that are trying to win the dyno day or what but regardless, I love it! lol So we really gotta get on this ladies!!!

But Sarah he said hes gonna bust ur chops for not letting him know yourself that we are participating since you guys are buds lol

But I'm competitive and I want us to win that dyno-day!

Hahaha well, we DID just decide today to get involved. So now we need to kick butt and take names.

If Subie Girls win the dyno day, all female volunteers for this event will be put into a drawing to win dyno time.

I'm not trying to be sexist and discourage the boys from volunteering, I'm just trying to encourage some new females to get involved. Plus, how hott is an all female dyno day? :D

question:

the meet on the 12th at swift, does every person who donates $50 or more get a dyno or is that also a raffle?

MoN
11-15-2009, 11:16 AM
This is what is on the original toys for tots post from Swift:
"Starting December 1st, We will be giving out gift certificates for free dyno time to anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy (or toys) worth 50$ or more."
It sounds like they are just giving them out.

Ok so Im trying to put the map together for the cruise after. There are a few possible routes and was just wondering how long you guys want to drive afterwards.

Do you want to drive:
a) 15-30 mins
b) 30-45 mins
c) 45-60 mins

please post up on the thread with your response so we can keep count.

Thanks

So I thought it would be a good idea to spread the word on the Toys for Tots at my job. So I sent an email to everyone yesterday, and offered an incentive. The person who dontates the most (Monetary or toys) will win a $20 walmart gift card. So I made a box for the toy drop off next to my desk. So far I got $20!! nice!! lol Heres my ghetto fabulous hand wrapped box....

they like to have a head count, but they usually advertise it on their sign so they know that either more or less will show depending on advertisement. if more people show than we gave them a head count for, they'll be plenty prepared. remember, they probably have at least one a weekend.

A group of New England members of SubieGirls.com gathered in Millbury to raise money for Toys for Tots.

December 14, 2009 - The old adage of boys and their toys was turned on its head last Saturday by a group of female automotive enthusiasts while they raised money for toys for tots in Millbury.

The group, Subiegirls.com, hosted a pancake breakfast at the Applebees in the Millbury Plaza. Proceeds from the breakfast benefited Toys for Tots and over $250 was raised as well as over $100 in donated toys.

From the CSC thread:
I just have to say....You guys Are amazing!!! Thank you all very much for coming down and for your donations. All said and done I think that this year was actually better than last and we are going to have to tell the TFT people to bring 2 vans. That pile is all toys...no filler!

CTSubaru as a group had the largest amount donated....so you guys will be getting a dynoday in the spring!

AND with the Haul Skimobile and the EB crew brought in...they will get one as well. His car was absolutely PACKED!

Again thank you all very much. You all helped make this holiday a lot better for quite a few children this year!

So the guys from toys for tots came and picked up the haul today. He said that we destroyed all of the other donation points in this part of the state and that because of what we brought in he will be able to help quite a few more people than was initially thought.

I have to Say, I have not been more proud of something I have been a part of in a long time....you guys and gals absolutely kick ass!

Sean

This was a great weekend. It's been a while since I've seen many of you, and the first time I met some more. It's always good to see you around here, and thank-you all. This was a monster stash of toys. It was definetly heartwarming that our collection actually grew from last year while just about every other collection point had a serious decline in donations. Believe me, I understand that many folks are hurting financially this year, and the effort that was put forth by so many of you was heroic.
Thank-you,
Dan

Not sure what he said over on the VW boards though.

Also, I am a guy. :p
