this is sort of a lament/idea of what i'm going to be doing with my interior.

...

so, what is up with subaru integrating the heater controls into the radio?! what the heck!! so, my fiance and i are going to be purchasing a radio from another legacy, chopping it up, fiberglassing it, and putting it into my legacy so we can keep the stock stuff. he has done car stereo installtions/prefab for a little over 10 years now.

once i have this done (it may be awhile depending on funds/how long it actually takes to find the radio) i'll put up some pics!

at WBM today, we looked at as many legacys as we could and not a single one had an aftermarket radio in it. so, we'll see how this all goes down.

I went the cubby route on my old LGT, was much cheaper then the other option.

We basically made a Y harness for the OEM radio and cmobined everything with the exception of the speaker outputs from the OEM headunit, worked like a charm.

Yes - new floormats count (I have WRX ones HAHAHAH), and I have WRX sun visors because my stock ones were falling apart. I had to drill new holes for them, so yeah - they are a mod!

I've been slacking and haven't even gotten a doner radio/HVAC yet. Though, with all of the research that I've done, fiberglassing is going to be the easy part. It looks like there are about 50 or so solder joints that are going to have to be made to extend wires and such. Certainly not affraid to do it but it's gonna take ALOT or time...
