I was wondering what everyone drives? My LGT is a 5MT. It took me quite a while to find one to replace my 1st LGT. :)

5mt also... it took me a long time to find one also... i think its because the demographic for our cars (lgt) are middle-aged people and they just want easy and comfy haha

Manual, I don't think I could really switch to an auto, I would probably still try to push the clutch in even though there isn't one there, I have done that a couple times when driving my moms truck!

The first time I got into an auto after learning stick I slammed on the brake with my left foot...

5mt, but my cousin drives a auto rex.

I can't drive an auto. I'm always trying to shift and slamming the brake or kicking the floorboards.

I am glad to know I am not the only person who goes for the clutch when driving an auto :D;)

6mt. When we got the rental last week, everytime I went to start it I would shuffle my left foot around looking for the clutch lol. But sometimes I do enjoy the ease of driving an auto, I can multi task and eat, talk on the phone and drive lmao

Honestly, I probably could if I focused really hard. Food in left hand, left hand also on steering wheel, phone under left of right ear and against shoulder and right hand on shift knob.

I couldn't drive like that for more than a turn or two. Too much going on at one time.

Lol ya its too dangerous to do all the time. But ya I dont think in the future I would purpously purchase an auto car over a manual, manual is too much fun to let go.

I learned how to drive on a manual, bought two auto cars, hated the crap out of them, and searched for my 5mt wagon :) Sooooooooooooooo happy now!

The only way to truly learn is to have to drive it.

That's all I will drive. It was so hard to find a 5MT LGT. It took a couple months. I was at home looking online. It was right after the accident. Found a great one though. :)

i drive an auto right now, but my next car will be a manual. autos may not be as much fun but it's really nice when you are drive on a stop-and-go freeway twice a day.

Yeah my 2.5i is an auto...I like it tho cuz I drive in heels every day in traffic for and hour and a half each way to and from work. When I was practicing on a manual, I had to sit sooooo far foward to be able to push the clutch in!! It wasnt comfy...Im too short!! :p

5mt also... It took me a long time to find one also... I think its because the demographic for our cars (L GT) are middle-aged people and they just want easy and comfy haha.

I am 49. Middle aged.

Ten years ago when I bought my first Subaru (a Legacy GT Ltd), I insisted on a 5 speed manual... (very hard to find). While I still have and very much love this car my subsequent Subaru purchases have been automatics.

Yeah, I want "easy" and "comfy" stuff for "normal" driving around town. And anyone who has ever tried parallel parking in deep snow can tell you... Subaru clutches aren't the best for really slow going in snow. For these reasons I tend to favour the automatics.

Also as I age, I find I am not as good as I used to be at keeping my 5spd LGT in its proper 4,800 to 6,000 RPM power band while driving in traffic. In normal traffic I just want to relax and go with the flow and not get pulled over 3-4 times a year.

Yeah, automatics aren't as exciting to drive, and they aren't as fun for driving on nice winding back roads... Unfortunately I find I do most of my driving in traffic these days... In traffic all you want to do is relax, take it easy and get to where you are going with out incident. For these conditions an automatic is best.

I have a 5MT RSTi but my DD is an auto G35x. I had always owned 5MT's but after having back surgery earlier this year it became painful to drive a manual everyday. I really do miss a manual DD but to be honest having an auto isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

My subie is an automatic. I no longer get asked if my car is my boyfriends now that it's got pink all over....now I get asked when I am putting in a manual transmission...the answer is never. The 4eat subie trans is amazing and 3 little letters make it even more lovable....IPT....www.http://www.importperformancetrans.com/subaruauto.shtml#main :) pure love. And the best thing is smoking manual wrx's sti's and Evos.....not much needs to be said when they just got beat at the track by a girl in an automatic :D

When I bought my Subie I wouldn't look at anything but MT. I had an automatic Toyota before that and I won't EVER go back to Automatic. UNLESS i buy a truck...a big truck..then it would be automatic LOL.

Ya, I'll never understand the point of the tiptronics... if I had an auto I def wouldn't bother touching the knob... I'd be drinking coffee! And eating a bagel! And changing my iPod! (all the things I suck at doing in my 5spd)

I learned on a manual Subaru when I first started driving all those years ago. I also took my driving test in a manual! So my opinion is an auto makes me feel lazy & I am more apt to not pay attention as much.

Those are my thoughts exactly. Autos make me feel like I'm being driven by a car, where as with manuals you are driving the car.

An automatic transmission makes your car turn in to a "transportation appliance". Its a lot easier and more relaxing to drive this way, but not as exciting.
