Okay, so this is mostly directed towards Monica since she all ready has the specific turbo Dan's been looking at, but any other input would be great!

We've been looking at the FP Green turbos. Monica, you said you have this turbo. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick this up for and where? And do you notice if it's laggy at all? How many lbs are you pushing? Are the internals are stock? Any input you have on this would be great!!

Thanks!!

Ok I dont know much about it besides it sounds cool and it added lots of power lol so heres a quote form Ed:

"We paid 1k used with about 3000 miles on it. Contact Josh at ImportImageRacing.com if you are looking for a new unit. I have the newest HTA version so the lag isn’t as bad as the original version, although it is still not terrible (getting full boost, 16psi, by 4k) we are only running 16psi because the motor is built and we are running on a break in tune. We plan on running 23 psi on pump gas, and close to 30 psi on race. If you have stock internals I would suggest either getting new pistons (as they are highly prone to ringland failure) or going with a very conservative tune"

I explained that you have an 06-07(?) LGT and this is what he said about that:

They are less likely to have ringland failure than a stock STi, but higher chance of detonation due to higher compression. Tell her to call josh to get pricing, he gives better deals when you call, and I would suggest ordering most supporting mods (ie, injectors, up-pipe, inter cooler…..) from him if they are going to buy everything new, and brand name, he will get them a really good price.

Your on mysubie.com right? I would also take a look at the reviews on the PF green turbo to get oother feedback. Go to the resources tab and look for the turbos your interested in to see what others are saying.

I really think that's the turbo I want to get. Now I have to decide if I want to pull my engine and swap in better internals or just buy a build short block. Maybe Cosworth!:D Either way, the description of the FP Green says it's good for up to 450hp and that's what I was going for so it's a win in my book. Thanks Monica and Ed for the sage advice!

I have a friend with the FP Green on his 05 STi. With a meth kit he's throwing just over 400hp to the wheels. He still has all stock internals and the car has (IIRC) around 60-80k on it.

In my opinion, all the blocks really need is forged pistons as long as your not going totally nuts. A better valve train with oversized valves and better cams will also help reliability as you go father up with the boost. Cosworth does make performance heads, but research Kelford. Kelford parts are what Cosworth uses in their high performance heads. And Kelford sells the stuff for way less that what you'll spend at Cosworth for the exact same thing.
