Hey there, just thought I would stop in and say hi. I belong to a few of the other car forums, I think this one sounds pretty fitting though. All of the other ones are inundated with boys, who are jerks to girls lol

My hobbies include: Bracket racing at Bandimere and I have been to a road track once back on Nov 11th. Otherwise I am a single mom of a two year old son, so if I am not working or hanging out with him, I am at the gym or doing stuff with my car. I am hoping to find a more fostering supportive environment with people who share a passion for their Subie!

Cars that I have owned:

2002 Toyota Corolla "S" TRD edition
2005 Scion tC
2006 Mazda Speed6, show car, had lots of exterior mods, some engine mods.

I co-owned these:

1980 Toyota Corolla
1990 Acura Integra, my highschool paint/body work project
1997 Toyota Paseo
2003 Honda Civic
2005 Scion tC, turbo charged, 2nd place at NOPI in 2006.
2008 Evo X, the bottom pic is me trading it in for the Subie!

Here are some pics as well:

Welcome! I love the mazdaspeed 6. When we were looking for a new car last yr our options were the speed6 or an STi. The speed6 is so smooth! I loved it but they are hard to find around here!!

Thank you everyone! I do have more pics of the Mazda, a lot more lol. I decided to go with power mods on the WRX, but the Mazda went to a lot of shows. I leased it new in 2006 for three years. I had a ton of compliments, and all in all it was a good car. It did great in the snow too! It did have a factory turbo problem, so it was replaced under warranty around 30,000 miles. I put a lot of money into that car, and my fastest 1/4 time at altitude was a 13.7. With probably half the money, the Subie ran a 13.1. That's a signifigant difference!

I will post more pics when I get home later today :) thanks again for the welcome!

Dan huh? Are you a guy LOL?! And yes, that day was mostly attended by pirates. Are you on there as well?

HPR was really fun, I had a few hiccups along the way though like:

1. Not bringing extra E85 and having to drive 90 miles round trip to buy 10 gallons plus fill up my tank on my lunch break.

2. Third gear was catching every time I shifted! Apparently changing the fluid should resolve the issue.

3. Stock brakes & tires = not very much fun. Lots of squealing, and wondering if the brakes are going to hold up...

4. My Tein SS coilovers came in two weeks ago... they were two weeks too late. So now I am just going to wait until the start of drag racing season to install them.

Until I upgrade the brakes, and have more money to fix things that could break I don't plan to take my car on the track. I felt like it was really hard on her. That was my first day on a road track, ever lol, but I have been drag racing for going on three seasons now.

More Mazda pics as requested as well as a video of me racing. Yes, I know it was against a crappy ricer complete with fart can exhaust, but the launch was stellar regardless lol!

Sorry, I just had to include the pic of me beating the Subie!

Me racing the WRX:

Me racing the EVO X, (that's not a very good lead... I wasn't a fan of that car, after owning one I really prefer the previous years).

Thank you all again for the nice welcome(s) :)

Yes, sometimes they let guys on here, lol. I'm registered with the pirates and that's about it. I don't roll with that crew anymore.

I always wanted to get to HPR. E85 is always the most PITA to be tuned on because of availability. Some of the local rally guys are running it and its a logistical nightmare to transport everywhere. Two 20 minute heats and you've only got a 1/4 tank left. :( Hopefully a lesson learned for you though... the more track time you get, the more you'll like it!

With a WRX 5MT, you'll want to take it easy on the shifting. Getting around tight corners means your engine and tranny will shift around a little bit due to the g-forces. You have to let it find neutral by itself before up-shifting to 3rd gear. If you slam gears under high g-load, you can bend shifter forks.

Brakes and tires will be the biggest upgrade for a WRX. Try sticker tires and lower tire pressure. Be careful with sticky tires on a drag strip though, you can snap axles vs. AWD burnout with RE92's.

Just got my car back from the dealer. Thankfully they didn't say anything about my mods! They replaced the tranny fluid with the Subaru "extra S" synthetic stuff. So far the gears feel good :) I ran E85 for a only a couple of weeks. I had to get gas almost everyday because I wasn't sure where I would be during the day. Also, was having some trouble with the cold start, so until I purchase a block heater I will just have to run the 91. Except for those couple of minor details, lol, it's like putting a Subaru on crack, E85 is AWESOME!! It was definitely worth the money spent to convert.

Haha, nice! There's a couple Subaru dealers out your way that love modded Subarus, as long as its not rice. The Extra S is the best stuff for syncros, where you might have been noticing that shifting problem.

Wow! They actually discriminate based on "rice" factor. That's awesome. I can just see someone at the counter saying, "but but, she had a front mount and you covered her work?! I only have a RFL BOV, 6 inch turbo back exhaust, and underglow's!!"

The hold music at the dealership actually encourages you to stop in and shop at Flatirons Tuning, and make your car what you really want it to be. LOL.

Yes exactly. You walk into Flatirons with a 600WHP Cosworth motor, they will warranty your brakes because you "couldn't slow down fast enough" and shake your hand for having such a cool car. Flatirons FTW. They warrantied my '02 WRX tranny for having bad syncros after 60k (warranty expired). And they also warrantied my '02 WRX turbo/oil pump when it leaked for using a strange mixture of oil after the warranty expired. Heurberger will actually mod the car for you (if you buy it from them) up to 500ish WHP and still do free oil changes for life and not void your warranty! Heurberger FTW.

FYI, dealerships on the east coast/new england region work completely differently. Words can not describe how terrible they are and how much they want to rip you off.
