Ebay Link: Aluminium Brake Cooling / Air Duct / Air Deflector Subaru Impreza GDA / GDB / GRB Legacy BL / BP Forester

It makes them produce a member of the club Subaru Italy ( Smteam.it ) from I.C.O.S. factory, a company that produces aluminium parts for Ducati, Ferrari, BMW and Buell. So good quality.

In Italy many Subaru owners install these pieces on thei cars; this are a good solution to reduce the overheating of the discs. Need to bring air directly to the center of the disc

Recommended!

I've seen these through another forum too. They look like the best choice for brake cooling. I've only seen the flat black or silver, but carbon fiber is much sexier. I kinda want a set. Wonder if they ship to the states... if not, would it be worth a plane ticket....... hmmmmm.... :)

EDIT: Reading > Me They do ship to the U.S. I should go sleep now.... :p

Yes, are more beautiful in carbon.

In Italy we had imported the carbon one from Jap spending a lot (500USD pair). They are made really well, but have a big problem at high speeds are broken, especially if you use it in car track ...
If you take a moving object if you take a break like curb. In short, they are too delicate and too thin carbon to flow under the car near the tarmac.

Therefore we decided to redone the same, but more resistant aluminum and much less expensive.

Where is the technical data to show the cooling effects of this product?

Ran a similar design concept on 997 Porsche.

The ducts from the GT3RS are much larger but they are effective in getting air into the wheel wells.

They're made from a flexible hard plastic material. Can't believe Subaru didn't put louvering on the front(bumper side) fender liners with ducting from front lower bumper. Anyway a good idea and they work.

I and other friends who build them have tested this brake duct on Formula 1 circuit of Imola we have near home, and the results were felt.

It 'a very tough circuit on brakes and Subaru stcock can not do more than two turns without overheating the brakes. With brake duct and maybe two tubes that lead from the front bumper air inside the wheel, the situation has improved.

I often ride at the Nurburgring Nordschleife and here I have noticed a minor overheating of my records.

The Suabru running the 24H of the 'Ring build them because it seems to help the cooling of brake discs.

This brake deflectors can be mounted with the original dust shield slots, either by cutting a part off the dust shield, or removed it completely. Depends on what everyone does in his car.

I enclose some photos of three possible ways to use the brake dust shield with deflectors

With original dust shield slot:

Without:

With some small modifications you can also mount the deflectors on Impreza GC8

For mounting just move the bindings back a few centimeters.Ainsi than setting up right to left and left to right.

Here are some photos of those who have already done ...
