so i've been having bad luck with people who park next to me in the past couple weeks.

the first picture is from when i took my mom to the supermarket like an hour before they closed. the parking lot was EMPTY and a red van had to park next to my car leaving me a damn dent on the fender's bodyline. total pisser and my BF was pissed also.

the second picture just happened yesterday while i was at work. when i finished, i went to disarm my car and it said the shock sensor had went off ... and to my suprise another freakin dent by my taillight on the SAME SIDE as the other dent. too me that's one of the worse dents you can have because look at the location ... another PISSER.

i'm so pissed off right now. i try to park away from everyone but it NEVER works!!!

That totally sucks! My new rex was rear ended a couple weeks ago by someone with out insurance so I feel your pain!! Wicked sorry!

So I wanted to ask a couple questions about living in Hawaii if you dont mind. My husband and I are seriously thinking about moving there after our son graduates HS in 6years & I was just wondering about a couple things. Like my husband is a nissan mechanic and I am an office manager for subaru, how is the pay scale & I know there are a few dealerships in hawaii but where is the best place to live? Is insurance for your sti crazy there? We both have a wrx so we would have them shipped when we go. Where should we avoid living? I guess regarding the pay scale is it really expensive to live there or does it all even out if you know what i mean?

Thank you & sorry if I ask to many questions

I feel your pain Honey! Not even one month after getting our car back from the body shop after I crashed it someone backed up right into our freshly painted door last weekend!! And it looks like they hit it and then pushed more on it cuz the dent turned into almost the entire width of the door! Come to find out it was our neighbor! She hit it and then took off! When she showed up the next day we inspected her bumper and found just a small scrape w/ blue paint on it, just enough to know it WAS her! So I approched her and she denyed it. So we called the cops to get a report and he said it was DEF her fault. When he went to confront her about it she still denied it. So, he pulled out his citation pad and said listen lady Ima go down the list of what you are going tobe charged with and then Im going to ask you one more time "hit and run, lying to an officer, leaving the scene of an accident, etc etc... your total comes to $3,800. So did you or did you not hit their car?" - She then admitted it! Thank god, cuz we would have had to pay the deductible for that.

Moral of the story is - people are douchebags!! If you hit someone, then you should take the responsibility of exchanging info...

Wow that sucks. Especially when you park in a wide open area and people just have to park near you. :(

Tell me about it!! Thank goodness she had insurance! I have called 3 diff insurance companys and all 3 tell me she was cancelled for non payment & having a suspended license....soooo it looks like for my bday I will be getting a new bumper instead of my suspension parts I was looking forward to. Wicked sorry about your car, hopefully after this you will not have any more issues going forward!

i know right ladies ... i'm so pissed off and some people are douche's ... erghhhhhhhhh ... now i have to pay to get them stupid tiny dents fixed. just don't know how they're gong to reach the one by the taillight.

whtrexgrl ... i will be honest, living in Hawaii is expensive. if you're looking for the best place to live, i'd say Kaneohe (where i live), Kahaluu, and Kailua are the more cheaper places. Hawaii Kai or Aina Haina are the more pricer places but very beautiful. or maybe town if you can deal with a-shole driver's during the day. the places i will tell you to avoid, i'll PM to you. i think Hawaii is one of the more high paying states ... our minimum paying wage is, i think $7.50 if i'm not mistaken. i think your husband will have an easy time looking for a mechanic job at a Nissan because there are several. as for working for subaru, we have only one dealership on Oahu. you can try contacting them for a job transfer. as for insurance for the cars, i pay about $1,000 for a year. if you have anymore questions, just ask  and sorry to hear about having to get a new bumper rather than your suspension. i know the feeling, everytime i have money to do something to my car, something comes up :sadbanana:

subiecutie ... sorry to hear about your car :( i hate when people try to lie to your face when you know it was them. atleast you called the cops and got it settled. i would've loved to see her still deny it and get the tickets and all the charges. that's what people get for lying

xxthatgirlxx ... i know right why couldn't they park a stall over seeing my car is not a beater and their's is. jealousy i tell you can get the best of people

xxthatgirlxx ... I know right why couldn't they park a stall over seeing my car is not a beater and their's is. Jealousy I tell you can get the best of people.Sure, jealousy could be a possible explanation.

Other explanations might be curiousity about what that shiney new car is... lets park over next to it so we can get a good look at it.

Sometimes those "Buy American" nut cases get angered/resentful of all these new "foreign" cars (never mind that the Subaru Legacy is manufactured in Indiana) and take a perverse delight in "accidentally" slamming their doors in to your car.

Other times, I guess its just human nature to park near by the only other car in the parking lot. Don't ask me why.

I have a few dents in my door from people doing the same thing, I'm just waiting for the day when I catch someone doing it.

same here... dan does too from parking on the shipyard. he has some crazy stories about people just blatantly slamming into doors while the owner of the car is sitting in the car and then just walking off like nothing happened. they don't care down there... that's why he takes the bus.

when i had my last car, i remember when i was waiting to start work and i was just sitting in my car. someone parked next to me and instead of watching out for my car next to them, they just swung open their door and hit my car and my car shook. so i got out and i was like WTF are you doing, you're paying for the dent you just made. not to my suprise it was a chick in a rush to get her ass to work and because she was in a rush, she just handed me cash and it was $500(it was christmas time too). i don't think she realized how much she gave me because it was all crispy/new hundreds and they were all stuck together. so she ran off and i was happy and moved my car to another stall. LoL @ her

I have a nice rub mark from a minivan door's plastic trim...how do I know? the douche was parked next to me at work and the same kind of wear was present on his driver's door. I left a note declaring WATCH YOUR DOORS, and never saw that van park in that row again. I've since stopped parking in that part of the lot, but I noticed that van parks a couple rows over to this day. Sometimes some morons just need that little reminder that now and then someone notices what they think no one will ever see. Sadly, that person probably still slams their doors into other people's cars in other lots, just not so much at work anymore

Edit: And I'll add that I got even more pissed considering my car has numerous issues from previous owners that already require PDR and some fresh paint here and there (and my sedan fenders weren't paintmatched to the rest of the car well at all, so someday the whole car needs to be painted)...and that door was one thing that looked just fine!

Sorry to hear everyone's stories :(
I can't stand people that don't care about their cars, let alone other peoples cars. If you don't want someone to ding your car, then don't ding theirs!
I always cringe when I walk out of work and see a shopping car in my car =(
There are so many dings i can't stand it.
I recently just got my rear bumper fixed so it was all shiney and new, and when I washed my car the other day I noticed someone hit it when parking because there are chips and scratches in it.. and I always try to park away from everyone... I hate careless people!

 It seems parking out in the boonies at work kinda paid off. I found a Subaru buddy to start parking near (grayish Legacy 2.5GT) and he came and said hi to me at work. Older guy, said he almost got a WRX but ended up with a Legacy for the space (and I'm assuming he got auto for the traffic), and he, too, can't stand the door-swingers who park closer to work so that's why he's parked way out there. It was so cool when he asked me about snow tires and how I painted my wheels. A silly thing, maybe, but it felt nice to be approached about my car :D

I always park out in the middle of nowwhere. Even in the rain, snow and freezing cold. Everyone laughs at me at work for it, but i don't have door dings.

ahh, well at least im not the only one who does that. I park my car as far away from other cars as possible. The kids always expect that when we have my car and we are going shopping. But when I come out and see someone parked next to me, i say to myself WHY?!?!?! Then to get the kids to laugh, I says to them the person who parked there car parked next to mine is a hater!!

The other thing I will do, i don' t park in the handycapp spaces  but the regular spaces after it, some parking lots have it, but I park close to the the line the seperates the regular spot from the handicapp space.

Lulz your definitely not the only one. I've even recently gotten in the habit of taking up two spots when i park  ...Out in the middle of nowhere, where no one is of course. Plus it looks so bad ass parked out there by itself, parked crooked.

I've only caught two people being careless with my car.

1) A girl in a parking lot thought it would be ok to set her purse on my wing and proceed to dig through it looking for god knows what. I was walking out of the store and approached her, said "nice car." She said, "oh it's not mine" I then pushed the unlock on my key fob and proceeded to give her an "are you effing retarded" look. I think she may have crapped her pants, I'm not sure.

2) A guy backing his Exterra out of a spot on the opposite side of the parking lane backed into my rear bumper while I was sitting in my car. I got out and he hauled ass. So I got his plate number, found out where he lived, and worked and payed him a little visit at work a couple of days later and resolved the issue without contacting my insurance.

I haven't caught anyone of the hundreds of people that ding my doors, but when if I do, they probably won't like it.

So did you meet him with a baseball bat? :D ...J/K

Glad it worked out for you. I haven't gotten a door dink yet, some how i've gotten really lucky that way. But i also walk miles/make my girlfriends walk miles. Which is probably why i'm still single...

I had a girl lean her butt on my car once. My fellow suby owner saw it, he refrained from telling me until she stopped though, probably because he knew id start something. Why on earth would someone touch a strangers car. Let alone put a purse on it, isnt that what straps are for . . . so your hands are free . . .

 We had a guy show up to a meet with a black GTR that proceeded to come over and eventually lean on my car. He didn't like it when I went and leaned on his.

I'm not sure about the straps, being a guy I only take my purse out on special occasions. :p

Wooow that sux. Call the cops and take them to her house. thats what we did a few weeks ago when my neighbor backed into our car and took off. She denied it up until I had an officer go knock on her door. Maybe when she has to answer to the cops it will put more pressure on her trying to do something about it. Or tell her you are going to file a suit w/ small claims court if she doesnt make an aggreement to pay you for it...? You shouldnt have to come out of pocket cuz some dumba** was to cheap to pay for insurance in a state where it is mandated......

Actually he doesn't need to start a fight on work property. He could have simply challenged him to a fight at a gym and knocked him senseless in the ring. That way his honour remains intact and the SOB will never be so casual about leaning up against a Subaru ever again.
