Subie Girls Calendar Contest [Archive]

SubieGirls.com will be making a 16 month calendar for September 2010-December 2011! Therefore, we will have a contest to get your sexy selves/cars into it. :D

Here are the rules:
(Please follow these guidelines before submitting)

* 12 individuals will be chosen based on most votes. 4 group shots (2 or more members) will be chosen based on most votes.

* 1 free photo per user will be allowed. If you are a Gossip Girl, you are allowed 2 free photos. Additional photo entries are $1 each to help cover over head cost of the printing.

* All entries must be from SubieGirls.com members that are female (sorry guys). All people in photo(s) must be Subie Girls members and car must be owned or co-owned by the member submitting the photo.

* We encourage members to be creative and sexy! But remember, keep it classy. Example: Anything less than a normal 2 piece bathing suit is unacceptable. All entries are approved at the discretion of site administrators. Please do not hesitate to ask questions before a photoshoot to be safe.

* A HIGH RESOLUTION copy of the image(s) must be submitted to sarah@subiegirls.com by April 30, 2010.

* Photos that do not have a high resolution copy will not be accepted into the final voting process.

* Photos should be at least 5 mega pixels.

* Voting will be done by the Subie Girls community starting May 1, 2010 and ending May 15, 2010.

* Winners get bragging rights and their winning photos in the calendar.
The individual photo with the most amount of votes will receive a FREE calendar!!

Good luck!

EDIT: Pictures that are taken horizontally will be larger and take up a full page. A tall photo will not! A combo of both or more than one vertical photo would be nice for girls who win more than one photo for the calendar and can get them both on the same month.

Which one of the cars is, but nothing about not being able to have other cars in the shoot....

Lmao!! I was thinking of that yesterday! But I'm sure these guys wont be active members and could care less about me wanting a pic in the calendar, so most likely wont sign up just for a picture with their car u kno lol. Aaaaand I dont want to peeve off the admin's.........

Monica, I love you but you're killing my here. Hahahahaha. The point of this calendar is to display us girls and their cars. We don't want to discriminate against girls who don't own their own Subaru and really like them (like you) so in this case, taking a picture with Ed's car (one that you drive on a regular basis) is acceptable. This isn't just to showcase us (women) as objects, but to display their cars and the work that they have put into them. Get what I'm saying?

As for the picture you provided, she's wearing enough clothes but really, can you say that she looks classy? To be she looks like just an object, which is what we'd like to shy away from. Is it acceptable for the calendar? Absolutely. But here are some nice, tasteful, sexy, calendar worthy photos that some of our members have posted:

Yeah the bimmer doesn't make me giggle like the waggin did everytime I heard the BOV... but it's still pretty... and much cheaper. Plus, it makes me look like I have money. :lol:

But I can't do Sundays because I work, so Saturday is better for me. Don't plan on account of me though.

Also just a note, we may still be in "snow mode" at the end of march. I think that's when most cars get summer prepped.

Well, I'm photo worthy, but neither of my Subies are and won't be by April! Damn! If any Utah girls want to do a shoot do we have to have both our cars or can we do just 1 car & 2 girls? (That's if there are any Utah girls that want to!)

I know it's not just a group thing. My problem is my cars are currently lame! haha I wouldn't want to see them in a calander and I love them! I'm sure it would be disappointing to anyone flipping through it to see all your hot cars and then get to Sep with me and my stock 97 L or stock 01 RS! LoL I'll see if I can't get some fun mods with taxes after all, I mean I have 2 months, right?! Better get in gear, I guess.

Actually his car is cars colour is officially known as "Blue Ridge Pearl". The real rally blue colour is known as "World Rally Blue" its a slightly lighter colour, and was originally sold on the first Impreza RS (back in 1998) with gold painted wheels.

There is noting wrong with your refrigerator white Impreza. Add a few cosmetics.. maybe a nice set of wheels, and your car will be hot too.

I have plans for my body, just can't afford it and my paint guy is, well in prison for another 10 months! haha After that my white car will be either tangerine(sp?) orange or a teal-ish color with pink accents, still not sure but I have time!

The poll to attend this shoot will be closed on next Friday 3/13. I will then be posting another poll to choose which Saturday would be good for most of us as well as any ideas/suggestions for a place to do the shoot. Can't wait! :D

This is gonna be fun, I'm stoked! I've been doing some photography research on modeling angles & positions, etc. I'm hoping to take some good shots of everyone.

Hopefully a few more girls will be taking some photos too so I can be in front of the camera too :banana:

If you don't mind someone else holding your camera, I wouldn't mind taking some shots. I used to sell cameras (SLRs were always my favorite... especially the Rebel mmmm) so I know just enough to get by. I'm no professional by any means. If you wouldn't feel comfortable with that, then I totally understand... I dunno how I'd feel about someone else touching my SLR (if I had one). It's up to you when we go out :)

Sarah (xxthat girlxx) is also a photographer so if she's there I'm sure she would take some shots as well!

I would love to see older Subies as well as the newer ones. As I flipped through the members list, there aren't many odler rides here. Kind of why I'm like "I don't know." But if there are others looking to see older ones I might have to push my sister to get together and take a few pictures.

I think the second picture is a GREAT example of what should be in the calendar.

I'm a guy so I guess I should like the skirt pictures better (they are good pictures! :lol: ), but ragdoll's second picture is really nice for a calendar IMO.

Jessickascarling's first photo is really nice, but the second photo she looks kind of uncomfortable. I think the heels are just so big that, to me, the pose just doesn't look natural/comfortable. I mean no offense, they're all great pictures, but I think jessickacarling's jeans & tshirt picture would look better in a calendar since the pose and smile looks so much more natural. :)

Roo over on SubaruForester.org suggested we make a calendar for Scoobies for Boobies and wanted to submit a photo. I told him he's a day late and a dollar short and that while his photo was great... it didn't have a Subie Girls in it! He's volunteered his services to any ladies who need help!

:lol: yes i was a little uncomfortable... but not because of the shoes!! it's cuz it was so cold, it was under 40* and rainy. we were FREEEZING!!! i was warmer in the first one since we had just arrived and those were our first pictures.

It was also cold when I had my photoshoot!! Alki is so windy!!!! It was typical Seattle, overcast and cold lol...No rain tho!!!! I was gonna go find a pink and black umbrella if it was and take some shots for April or something lol :lol:

Hey Sarah, ya know how some calendars have some info about the pic on the page, like the location of the scenery shot, or the breed of the dog hehe. Are we going to do anything like this? Like Car model, Location, and SN??

Oh ya, I wanted to ask... Since our pics were done by a photographer, can we either use his watermark or can we put his info somewhere on our pics if they're chosen? We want him to credit!!

yeah, we'll do like screenname, state and we can do photographer. I didn't want to do watermarks b/c some phototgraphers watermarkers are a bit over powering and I didn't want someone to stand out more than another. Get me?

pics can be as simple as you want them when it comes to looks with the car and look amazing (such as subieqt's)

or you can just have it as down right sexy as possiable such as christine and jess's pics

that i think makes it fun for you. Get creative and explore ideas. Don't be afraid of the camera is the pointer i'll give to you ;)

Maybe I just need to grab the camera and go take some pics! We'll see how this weekend looks... They won't be photoshoped to perfection cause I suck at that right now

That's all I did, though I doubt there will be any photoshopping, as I don't have software and when I did I sucked at it! haha
You can tell a difference between mine and the pro photographs, but I'm ok with that. I just need to get them sent to Sarah! :-)

there is no where in the rules saying you have to be a member for a certain amount of time/have a certain amount of posts. at least not for the first calendar!

i would say photoshopping is okay... just don't overdo it. if the admins feel your photo is too photoshopped or if it's inappropriate, we'll let you know. that's why we are having particpants email the submissions to: sarah@subiegirls.com for proofing. and all you have to do is make sure your camera meets the megapixel requirements so it won't look grainy when we put them in the calendar. other than that, professional photographer not required :)

they're allowed, but it needs to be a NORMAL bikini, nothing g-stringesque. when you email your submissions, they are up to the discretion of the admins.

Also, For those who are entering multiple photos, don't forget to email/pm me about payment. I know it's only a dollar but I figured that people would be more likely to enter multiple submissions at that price.

I have one that has a tanga bottom, its similar to a string bikini thats ok right? I would never wear a g-string lol. I'd feel naked haha.

I'm kind of anxious to see which ones I actually sent! My computer crashed 4 times tryig to load them to send. By the 5th time I tried I was going off the random photo number the camera gave them instead of actually pulling up the thumbnails to see what they were! haha Oh, well, what's done is done!

I also have a few people asking about the canenders. Any ideas when they will be available and how much? I know it will be before/near Sep, as they are 16 month canelders starting in Sep, correct?

Just use your best judgment. Normal bikinis are okay. Just remember certain poses can make a bikini quite unclassy!

Also, you have hot as hell photos to fall back on that you've already posted on here.

Calendars will be available for purchase as early as June. The dates won't start until Sept. though.
