The Container Store

Soooo.... those who know me... know how cluttery my things get and how hard it is for me to stay super neat and organized. I love Martha Stewart and hope to one day be neat... and organized....

Anyway, out in Natick, MA last night I saw The Container Store. I'm almost sure I've seen it before, but it really caught my eye last night. I got giddy and now I really want to go there. :D

That is all. Unless I get there this weekend and report back with my exciting findings and maybe even a purchase or two or three... heh.

ooooh... i have to organize my storage unit and get rid of all the crap i don't need anymore. i can't stand the smell of plastic containers though... i know it's weird, but i can't even go near the aisle in walmart where they're located without gagging! can't wait to hear about your findings at this place :D

Okay, so I went on Friday evening. The excitement level was almost as high as when I go to Ikea. :D

When I moved out of my Dad's house I was prepared for little storage (typical Worcester triple deckers) and prepared myself by buying some tiered hangers very similar to this one that I found at The Container Store for $7.99 each.

The apt. and the bedroom I got happened to have a closet as wide as one wall! And it was actually built over the original closet of the bedroom. So I have a closet in my closet. The hangers work great and I love them. I have been thinking about putting a TV stand and TV in my closet (it's the only place in my room to put it) but I have too many clothes and too much crap. I have purged to 2-3 of the Subie Girls and all I really did was make room for other more recent clothes purchases!

While I was browsing the hanger section, I came across these cascading clips (10 in a box for $4.99!!!) They come in platinum (gray) and black.

I haven't used them yet BUT, they are way cheaper and I already have a ton of plastic hangers, so I'll be able to make my own little tiered sections of clothes. I'm super excited about my purchase. If they work well, I'm totally going back for probably 3-4 more boxes of them. :)

Okay so to report back on the clips... they FIT on the plastic hangers but when they fall onto the curve of the hook on the hanger the clip becomes crooked. That makes the 2nd hanger crooked. :( I had a bunch of the hooks together to "quadruple my space!" but it just seemed like a mess. So for now, I'm just "doubling" my space and dealing with a little bit of crookedness. I'll go buy a few more boxes of them and one day when I'm made of money, I can buy the hangers pictures above that are SUPPOSED to go with the clips. And in my fantasy world, I'll just have a HUGE walk-in closet. :)

I could walk into the closet in the closet... but it's literally like looking at a wall of crap when you open the first closet. :ugh:

Good news though, my amazing boyfriend got motivated with me tonight and helped me clean. Make fun of me, but I totally believe in fung shui and my chi wasn't flowing in that room. It feels nicer already!
