Ok, first I want to thank everyone that has answered my threads. You have all been very helpful. In the short time I have been here, I have read a ton of useful info, again thanks!

So I was having a dilema because of what Eric wanted me to do with my car, which was nothing. And him wanting to get his track ready. He brought up him taking my L and getting me a newer car (I'm really hoping WRX, but we'll see, since he also wants a bugeye and I do not like them! haha) next tax season. After hearing I want to do mostly suspention work on mine I was advised a newer one would be better for that. Taking that and other things I read here into concideration. As well as my brain storm of, in a few years I will have 3 kids out of car seats that will need lap AND shoulder belts. My car now only has a lap belt in the middle, so I will need a newer car at some point that has 3 shoulder belts in the back seat. With that thought I told Eric I wouldn't do any real mod-ing to my L and give it to him next year when we get me a newer car. I would like to add a rear spoiler and maybe some ground effects to make it look tough and it needs new seats. It will also be getting Eric's disc breaks, intake and exhaust when he strips his car next year. There you have it, leaving my L engine/suspention wise as it is and only doing simple cosmetic mods and doing the interior. I would still like to paint it, but since it'll be Eric's I'll leave that up to him when he take over driving it. Now for the pain of waiting to have a really fun to drive, not just look at, car! Only 12 more months until next tax season! haha

well considering this is your car, you should get what YOU want, not what eric wants, right?!

I think your new plan sounds like a good idea. You'll need something bigger/better for the kids. Maybe a sexy Forester or Outback would work. Save the money now and don't do much with the L. You'll be happy when it comes time to get the new car.

Well, I do not like the Outback, specially not the newer ones. Why change the ride height so much? Same with the new Forester. I like the older ones more than the newer ones. However my "I had to get super special child seat" don't install well in the older Foresters. But I think it's just Rear facing that causes the problem and by next year my youngest should be Front Facing. I guess I'll have to look into some body mods for the Forester, since I'm not in love with them. With a little help I think I could be though.

Now to get a new rim and tire for my L, since I was impatiant and did little rallying and had a blow out. Leasson learned! Then I can install my sway bars, a new RallyTech rear sway and Eric's stock RS front sway bar. Then we're making skid plates. After that I have a dash coming (cheap from a friend redoing her interior, thanks scoobiegirl) then looking for seats. Things are moving alongand I'm excited!

I agree. We are trying to start a family and I know that both of our WRX's just won't cut it to hold kids. I nanny for a 6 year old and his booster barely fits back there. And since we have a high chance for twins.. I gotta think about that too. I am thinking a Forester XT if I can find one (I'm still holding onto Bettie though!). I wish they would come out with this:

I think I could rock that!!

My mom has a 2010 Outback and I told her she needs to mod it to be like this and add a "my groceries are faster than your groceries" sticker!

Wooow that thing is sick!!! I would SOO rock that! And I love the new foresters, not the old ones so much, they are too box-y for me. Im hoping to get into a pre-owned 08 Forester XT in paprika red pearl or camelia red pearl next year....

Ya when it was time to move up to a convertible car seat for my son, our biggest issue was finding one that fit, because the car seats now a days are HUGE!!

Now that is a hot looking wagon! I don't like the new height/over all stance of the new Foresters. They are just to SUV like and I do not like SUVs. I have seen a few mod-ed Foresters that weren't to bad so I haven't completely cuonted them out. And I do like that they have more "trunk" space for backpacking gear and all that. Doing family trips out are not fun in the RS, we have to have the kids prop their feet up on bags. Poor kids, their legs are getting too long for this now! haha

As for car seats I think if I can fit 3 seats in DH's 2-door RS and my 97 (ie narrower than newer models) L I don't think I'll have any problems with car seats.

And SubieCutie, look into the Sunshine Kid's Radian80XT or any of the Radian line. They are narrower, specificly made to fit 3 across in smaller cars. They are great seats and will most likely be the last seas you buy for your child. They can be tricky to install, specially in Subies so having a CPST (Child Passanger Safety Tech) install it and show you how is a good idea. It only takes me a few minutes to get mine in after ahving them for a year.

Thanks for that info!! Hopefully we will be needing to buy one of those within the year..Great to know it will be a better fit for our cars. :D

If your going to be rear facing it that is where they have issues with Subies, but with a little help they can be installed properly. I love my SKRs, though if I had one less child I would have liked either the TrueFit or the MyRide65, they are too wide to fit three across though.

Anytime anyone has a car seat question, PM me, I know about almost every model of seat and what cars they will and won't fit well in.
