View Full Version : Bad experience with Perrin ... anyone else?

So the beginning of February I had e-mailed the sales people at Perrin. I asked how much will be shipping for the hard sway bar kit (25mm front sway bar, 22mm rear sway bar, and front and rear endlinks) and Christina (sales manager) said $88 for shipping. I e-mailed her again asking how much would it be to add in the strut tower brace with shipping and she gave me a total of $758.38. Beginning of this week, I e-mailed her asking if the quote of $758.38 was still good and she said she'll honor it.
So the other day, I wrote a check to my BF and had him order it for me so it could be shipped to his house instead of mine because that is where I'll be installing it. He calls and places the order with Christina at Perrin and she sent me an invoice via e-mail. The invoice was missing the strut tower brace (still charging me the $758.38) so my BF called back and cancelled the order, then called me, and told me call and ask why. So I asked why it didn't have the front tower brace? Christina tells me that because the quote for shipping was from beginning of February, it's no good and shipping is $100 UPS ground. So I said okay, but your website says the hard sway bay kit is only $584.99. so that plus $100 shipping is only $684.99 but she tried charging us $758.38 so she tried to overcharge us in the first place!!!
So I said forget the strut tower brace and just give me the hard sway bar kit. So she said it's $684.99 and I said alright and clarified it with her a few times before hanging up to make sure EVERYTHING was clear. I called my BF and he called her back and replaces the order. Now, I get another girl named Molly sending me an invoice via e-mail and it's missing the rear endlinks and the total only came out to $525.
How many freakin times do I have to call and clarify my order in order for them to get the damn thing right? So I e-mailed Christina again because I tried calling and they were closed. I told her I want her to send the rear endlinks and I'll pay the $159.99 but I'm not going to pay shipping for that item. I'm just so freakin pissed off with them. Why couldn't Christina (the manager) complete the order herself and send me the invoice instead of getting another person involved.
Shouldn't she have gave me the kit and the strut tower brace for the $758.38 because she said she'll honor it before checking if the shipping price changed?

I've had very good (surprisingly) experience with Perrin. Maybe Sarah can chime in on her turbo inlet story.

I'm sorry for your luck. To be honest it sounds like untrained customer service people.
I don't remember if I ordered my turbo inlet hose through Perrin or through another company that sells Perrin. If I ordered through Perrin directly I think I did it all online so I didn't have any issues. I'm actually planning on picking up some sways/endlinks from them so I hope that if I work directly through them it will be better and make you want to buy from them again. I have a few Perrin hoses and I am happy with their product so far.
I cant stand having bad experiences w/ businesess that can't get there shit straight, so I personally would cancel the order entirely just to prove my point to these idiots and order it through another vendor, You may even get a better quote elsewhere without the BS. Contact Josh at www.importimageracing.com. This guy hooked us up big time on a bunch of aftermarket parts we bought last summer....

Well I feel that Christina, as a sales manager, would get everything right and wouldn't mess up because hello ... she is the manager. I mean how many times do I have to clarify everything with her over the phone? I honestly think the only reason why they could careless because I live in Hawaii and it's not like I'm going to waste money to go up there personally and order stuff or to complain about their bad customer service. I think this is the only thing shitty about living in Hawaii :(

It's because i live on a freakin island that everything gets all messed up. But, I will NEVER order from them again. I'll pay a little more to have my order straight from the get go. This is the FIRST time I have had this much problems ordering things online. They should just give me my strut tower brace for free for all the freakin hassle

i've ordered a few things from them and haven't had problems
but then again i ordered online.. i don't like calling people about stuff. not my style. so i do all my buying online
one place not to change the subject or anything that pissed me off is subimods... well it might have not been their fault could have been UPS's fault.
I ordered some stuff through them and there was a mix up with where to send it and i didn't get notified about it untill last second and i told UPS where to ship it.. and they still f-d up so on my 25th birthday i had to hunt down my package between 2 different UPS facilities for pickup which led me to 90 miles of driving and just a few minutes before closing to get this thing before it was gonna shipped to the wrong address to someone i don't even know. The only bad experience i've had yet ordering stuff

I just don't know, they should just give me everything i wanted for the price she said she would honor because it isn't my fault she's stupid and did everything wrong. i'm still pissed off. they shipped the swaybars and front endlinks without the rears. NO ONE called me to tell me why it wasn't shipped with my order or if it's out of stock. I'm so pissed with them and WILL NEVER deal with them again.

Hi Jaymie,
I looked thru Christina's emails and you were emailed the next day after you placed the order explaining the backorder :( I apologize for the mix up and I hope things were fixed yesterday. I know we emailed a few times yesterday. Was everything taken care of? Please let me know! PS my first post YAY!!

Glad to read everything was taken care of. My boyfriend or myself has dealt with Perrin a few times and must have good luck since the transactions all went flawlessly - even when I ordered some things right before Christmas and had them shipped to BFE to surprise my boyfriend. I was sweating that one..
