Sorry, this is also a bit of a vent ...

So my legacy has only been in working function 2 weeks out of the 5 that i have owned it. I am pretty p/oed at the dealership because what we thought was just a 'tire balance' ended up being the harmonic balancer. SO we had to replace that plus belts and the timing belt cover... so we think its fixed.. YAY.... not so much, turns out the metal rattle we have been hearing is the turbo saying "im about to blow" and there is still a wobble... so a few friends spent some time looking at it, scanned it and researched it, and we are pretty tight with a suby dealership around here, and they all lead to, turbo, shot. camshaft sensor out. rack &pins MAY be shot and if not then just a balance... over all we are looking at OVER 2000+$ to spend on a car that I JUST BOUGHT!!!!!!!!!!(and i have already dropped at least 150 into it just to try and make it "run right"!!!!)
So I am sad to say I believe i will be making the dealership buy this back from me and I will be trading it in for something else...
I was hoping to look at a white STI we found... but unfortunately im a tight wad and dont really want to spend a 100$ more per month right now.
The only reason i got rid of my beloved TC was because I was having a 3 year hard time getting used to the bouncy f*ing clutch.(manual) So i traded for what i thought was a luxury automatic with some power on the side...FML
I do however, plan on staying on the forum if thats possible... because my fiance still has his WRX and it is 'always at my disposal' as he says. AND if any of you were reading, we will be getting a new car after the wedding, and we have dicussed trading his wrx in for a new STI next august.:D so i am just hoping this all works out... and just wanted you all to know!

I am really sorry to hear you're having all those problems. Good luck finding a new vehicle! Even if your fiance were to get rid of his roo you would still be allowed on the forum! We don't judge you just by whether or not own/drive a subaru.

That really sucks, First of all, U are always welcome on the forum no matter what you drive!!

Second, the car isn't still covered under factory warranty? Have you discussed the "appraisal" you had done regarding whats wrong with it to the dealer? If you trade it in your going to get stuck paying the difference for a car you barely got to drive a little over a month, that doesnt seem fair at all! There has to be a better way out of this situation. Is this a subaru dealer you got it from?

Or you could total it and call the insurance!! i know I know, illegal, blah blah blah, what do we pay insurance for if we barely get to use it... I say take advantage of the years of money we pay into insurance company's they are a fraud themselves....

I don't believe it came with a warrenty other than the 30 day lemon law and it sat in my garage passed the 30 days :( while we were waiting for parts for the first fix. It is just a crappy situation. She called the dealership and they told her they would give her 200 to help. What is 200 going to do when 2000+ is needed to fix it. Hopefully she will get something worked out. GRRR

Subaru factory warranty is 5 year/60K miles for powertrain. Also, the dealership should cover the pre-owned car by state law based on how many miles the car has for X amount of miles or time from the time it leaves their lot. That's how it is in MA.

Yup!! Def check your local lemon law before you make any hasty decicions. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

Ohio had a 30 day lemon law and it sat in my garage passed the 30 days waiting for parts to fix it when the crank pulley and harmonic balancer ate through the timing belt cover :(

I wouldnt let this stand the way it is, If I were you I'd take them to court and have a judge decide.

It looks like you still might be protected under Ohio's Consumer Sales Law.

it's always worth a shot to look into your rights! most attorneys will give you a free consultation so you could talk to a professional to get an opinion.

thank you everyone SOOO MUCH for the support!! :-) my uncle is a lawyer and i talke dto him about it and tried to get a quote on the ohio lemon law... basically because i didnt not purchase the addt'l warranty on the car the dealership is not legally binded to do anything about it.and i purchased the car.."as is".
so I either get to eat 4 grand on a trade in OR eat 2 grand cash out of pocket for 1 issue that we know of.(turbo) out of 3 issues that have occurred. I think i will be trading it in, and to be honest it prolly wont be a suby! I know, i love them and i am not turned off of them in any way, i think theres this karma thing, i have ALWAYS been a toyota girl, 2 celicas, 1 4runner and 1 ScionTC(toyota celica,ha) So the toyota gods are mad at me, lol. I think i will stick to my roots, for now, and then after the wedding we will prolly trade my fiance's car in for an STI!!! :-) something to look forward to, until then i will ride the skirt tails of TI07STI,(ariel) and hopefully get to meet everyone!
I will keep everyone updated on what i end up with in the meantime and continue being a subiegirls supporter!! :-)

Ya a fast little go kart!! They are very nimble around corners, great track car or great daily driver too! I saw one the other day all pimped out and when I look at the driver getting out it was some like 75 yr old woman, Im not even exaggerating... lol it was pretty awsome!
