Ok, I'm going to start this now, because when the real mods start coming I will not remember Dmitry's rebirth! haha

We aquired my 97 L in Nov '09. It was a suprise gift from Eric, as he knew I hated my Accord. His friend had a neighbor that wanted to get rid of it for a little Christams cash since it had sat in his yard for 2 years without moving. $500 later it was ours! Then on to getting it running, as it had sat for a long time, sadly full of gas and other fluids! After much flushing we cleared fuel lines and got it running. But that was only the start of the crap we would have to put into Dmitry to really get him running good.

Fuel pump
Fuel filter
PCV valve
Air filter
Oil filter
Battery
Tires (4 in Nov and one in March after blowing it at a Dirty Meet)
Side mirrors
2 x CV axles (left and right)
Plugs and wires
Water Pump & gasket
Thermostat & gasket
Timing belt
Timing belt tensioner
Front main seal
2 x cam seals
2 x valve cover gaskets
Rear main seal
Flywheel
Exedy clutch kit (clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc.)
Front output shaft seal (requires transmission disassembly)

And he still has a hic-up once in awhile, not sure if it's the ignition coil or the fuel pressure regulater. Just more parts to buy! haha

As far as mods go they are minimal:

2001 RS Front Anit-Sway Bar (Eric's hand me downs! haha)
RallyTech 19mm Rear Anit-Sway Bar
Cusco Strut Tower Brace (also Eric's hand me downs, though this ones not as old! haha)

I also painted my rusty steelies black, I couldn't handle the old nasty rust anymore, satin black is much better, though not as good as real rims! haha We were going to put his air intake on my car, but he is now saying it won't work. I'm going to look into it. We're also in the process of making skid plates. And waiting on paint to paint my black trim white, I like it better the same color as the car.

That's it for Dmitry, for now! I have many, many plans, even though after next year he will be Eric's daily driver! haha

I like him dirty! hehe

Edit 5-7-10

Installed a new fuel pressure regulater, hopefully that will stop his hic-ups. I have yet to drive him since the install, he's been all taped up for painting. And as a slight;y early Mother's Day present Eric and the boys of course, bougt me "new" RS wheels. No more rocking the steelies unless I'm out in the dirt and mud!

When I got him:

And now with new wheels and painted mirrors and bump strips (handles and front grill are being done tonight, but I'm in patient! haha

You can't really tell the whites aren't exact, but I know they are slightly off. But as long as no one else can tell I'm ok with it for now. (The car is dirty and the painted places are, well, freshly painted and clean! So it looks more off then it should. haha) Can't wait for next summer to get a real paint job. Though by then it shoud be Eric's DD and I'll have something new, fingers crossed! haha

The "white out" process has been completed! I love how sleek he looks without the black trim and handles. Not to mention we redid the bumper to hid all the gouges. Looks much better.

In the process of painting:

I also took off my mudflaps. Eric likes it better witout, but I think I might want to put them back on. I'm also bedating painting them white as well! haha

I didn't think it would make that big a difference until I saw the pictures. It's crazy what a little paint and new wheels can do for the apperance!

Just added another hand me down to my car, Eric's AM Subaru manufgactured exhaust. Nothing fancy, but much better than the borning old stock one! haha I'll add a pic later.
Slowly but surely things are moving along! :-)

Just looked back at my old pix, dang I'm glad the black is gone! haha

nice car!

how do you like the exedy clutch in your car compared to any other 5 spds you have driven?

Thanks, Woody, I love my car!
As for the clutch, it's really nice, smooth. I love it. Though I have only ever driven my Subbie, hubby's 01 RS and a 95 Eclipse so I don't have much to compare it to, specially since the Eclipes was my 1st and like 10 years ago! haha I will say the race clutch that is in the RS now makes mine seem that much better! haha I really do not like the cluth in the RS any more.

In Feb or March I replaced my falling apart ugly to start with tan seats for some older (their from a 95 coupe) grey seats in much better condition. I was planning on doing a tatorial but after getting the seats done I realized with how easy it was for me, a car-tard, to do it I doubted it needed it's own thread! LoL (But if one of the older car owners desides they need instructions let me know I have pix for the whole thing! haha)

Here is what came out:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f333/beautifulbaby3/just%20stuff/My%20Love%20My%20Car/Picture032.jpg

And my yard, the neighbors acted like they have never seen such a thing it was funny to have people walking by stop and stare! LoL

And what went in:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f333/beautifulbaby3/just%20stuff/My%20Love%20My%20Car/Picture007-1.jpg

Much better, until you realize the rest of my interior is stil tan! LoL Guess what my next project is?
I had a local guy tell me I could have his black GC dash when he replaced it with an RS dash with the cool center dash compartment, but when I questioned him as to when he was doing the swap so he didn't have the old dash laying around he never wrote back. :-( Junkyards here I come!
