The 2010 NEMS SPRING KANC CRUISE will be held on May 16th 2010. This year there is a new route which will include all of the same roads of past, but with the addition of doing Bear Notch TWICE. There are a few other minor changes, but be assured it will be as good or better than before.
A detailed map of the route will be posted in the next week or so.
Expect the same great organization as all previous cruises.

I went to last yrs fall cruise and it was SOOO much fun. Its a whole day of adrenaline rushes and cruising crazy twisted and turny roads. Bear mountain is f-in insane. I would love if some of you gals/guys could go and we can cruise the whole day together!! Just make sure you prep your car, cuz its a lot of miles.. il find out exactly how much when they post up the map...

it's in dover, nh so i'm not sure if a lot of people will be able to make it :sadbanana: but if people are going to come before the cruise, i will be sure you are served right away!

Yeah. It was up some unmarked side road. But we parked on the hill and sat around on large rocks and enjoyed the sun/views. I work on Sundays, so I can't make it.

That wont work, they're leaving the NHTI parking lot at 9am, and it takes an hour to get from Dover, NH to Concord...... The breakfast doesnt start until 8am right?

that isn't a bad idea! but the breakfast goes until 10 am and i don't think applebees would be too happy if we only did it for an hour.

No, we stay till ten clean up and then go, Im sure we could catch up at one of the resting stops, they do like 4 of em :)

Well the cruise is almost the same route everytime, so you'd we'd have to find a place on their route. Then we have to make it tie in w/ the usual rest stop times... lol god, this is gonna be work, but I think we could pull it off, maybe for the fall cruise!

yeah...:o have to say that i have only even been to the kanc once, two weekends ago.. lol the boyfriend took me there to show me what it was like going the speed limit, so i could actually enjoy the sites. i hate to admit that sunday he will be driving MY car :confused:
Thats ok... maybe you guys can switch off driving like Ed and I do. But if your inclined to take it on the slower side (not the normal 40 mph over the speed limit around turns that everyone else does :lol:), then try to choose the less complex roads to drive on. Last yr I un-knowingly chose THE WINDIEST Road - I forget which it was Ill look for it on the map, where its one lane each side, and their is traffic on these roads, so you have to pass over the dotted/solid lines on the opposite direction doing way over the speed limit to keep up with the rest of the pack. I almost ran a family in a Jetta off the dam road!! It was bad, I guess I got real nervous seeing the turn up ahead coming real fast lol... Ed said he refuses to let me drive that part again! :lol::lol: So its prob best that our Guys will do the hard driving... haha So we should try and meet up at the meeting spot so we can cruise together! Although Im sure all the subies will end up following eachother anyways... Yayy Im so excited cant wait!
Are you doing an oil/fluid change? You should def, its a lot of miles and hard driving on your car :( And bring all types of possible neccessary help items like fix a flat, extra oil, anti-freeze, tools, all that good stuff. :)

actually the jetta was full of participants in the cruise, so it was pretty embarasing when we stopped at the next rest area... and that was bear notch rd

Oh man! It would be a haul for me to just get up there! Four and a half hours from my house, yet still tempting...
I'm torn between this cruise and an AutoX in CT for my sunday funday this weekend. hmmm...

Ya I know amy its a 2 1/2 drive for us... and after driving all day the worst is having to drive hoe at the end of the day... But it is WICKED fun!

yeah.. we will definitely have to meet up!!! except i just found out today that we will be in HIS car instead so... its a silver '04 STI license plates that read "PIG-STI" so feel free to come find us :) it will be nice to start actually meeting some of you and having the pleasure of cruisin with you too... i cant wait either!! lol

^EEEK! I'm not surprised though. Quite a bit of "spirited driving" on trips like this. It's asking for trouble. Hope everyone is okay.
Cupcakes - there were like 5 silver STis lol and I didnt remember the plate! Sorry. Did you have fun? It was a blast, except the Kanc was freaking scary as hell ed was ripping it at like 105! I didnt have enough to hold onto lmao.
Yes there was an accident. Some dumb ass on a bike decided to weave in and out of traffic on the first leg of the cruise, which is the most congested, especially while the other dumbasses are stopping traffic comepletely to race, so this idiot went over onto the shoulder to pass and lost control on the rumble strips, and he took out like 5 other cars, or at least the cars took each other out trying not to run him over.... NEMS is saying that he was forced to the shoulder cuz someone cut him off, but I dont believe it I saw him flyin past us at like 95mph, and even if that was the case, if he hadnt been driving the way he was it would have been avoided all together. Hes ok, as well as everyone else involved I hear.

that's exactly the story i heard but because i wasn't at the actual cruise i didn't want to post it :lol: i wanted to make sure it was right! that's BS about NEMS saying that it wasn't the guys fault since it really sounds to me like it was!! this is why dan and i don't go to these huuuuge cruises, people are bound to play around a little too much. glad you had fun though!!!!

Aww we were at the very front of the pack for the Kanc/loon run so we avoided the cops lol, did they stop you guys or block the road or anything? I was getting fidgety at the lunch meet, wayy to long, ed and I went to the back of the resivoir and got some sick shots to kill time, ill post them up later. And the smoking doesnt bother me cuz ill admit Im not an angel :rolleyes:, but I mean have some respect and go do it somewhere secluded where the kids can't see or smell it you know. But I def had fun, I mean as long as you stay away from the retards then its fine...

ill have to ask the boy for the link... i dunno how he found it... but no we didnt get stopped at all... and we went BACK over hurricane mt. rd. after they said to watch out... lol. and i agree the lunch break was too much time... i guess NES is organizing their own kanc cruise. i dunno when it is yet but it would be wayy better with all subies and less people

Im sorry but all those other people involved in the pile up, I blame on themselves, if they weren't riding ass, they wouldn't have rear ended eachother, and ALOT of people were doing that the whole cruise, like hello, we're cruising at over 80 mph w/ over 300 cars, you'd think you'd be smart enough to keep ur distance...

man oh man....i agree with subiecutie...dont ride asses! :) i would have been pissed just like ol dude yelling at the crash guy...but then again...dont ride so close and you would have been able to stop a.hole!
on other note...man there looked like alot of Hondas there...i was watching another video and most all i saw was honda with scoobs slippin in every now and then...
