So I thought i'd start a thread for the embarrassing stories you've had in your subie. I'll start with mine lol.

Between classes today I was doing my homework in my car with the windows rolled down. It got really hot so I just turned on the fan for a bit. I lost track of time trying to finish a packet before my next class and didn't realize the fan was dying. Because my battery died. Yeeeeep. So today I killed my battery.

Well thats not that bad, unless someone saw/watched it happen lol....?

O I have one!! How about a few weeks ago I was driving through a shopping plaza and apparently at the burger king there was a honduh meet going on, so here I go cruising by getting stared down by like 20 honduh guys and out of nowhere the car stalled out felt like it had no gas whatsoever! Now this has never happened to the car ever or ever since this incident! No idea what the fuck happened cuz I was steadily cruising in 2nd about 15 mph, no way It was anything I did.... I swear it was not driver error... I think it was the hater-aide clogging my air intake or something...:rolleyes:, No but THAt was super embarrassing, you know they all snickered at me as I turned it back on and sped outta the lot lmao.....

^man I hate it when guys like that see something like that because they assume it's your fault lol. Yeah a couple girls were watching me lmao. And I had to ask a guy in my class to give me a jump, turns out it recharged when I was in class. Barely started but I didn't need the jump.

Worst thing that ever happen to me was I went hiking for the day. I brought extra clothes because it can get pretty muddy. Time I was back down from the mountain I really needed to change. Of course no one was around and I felt safe enough I could quickly change in the back of my car. So I took my clothes off laying down in the back of my seat, put both my legs up in the air and dressed. Get out of my car and here comes this dec officer. He told my not to be romping in the woods because it's indecent. At first I didn't quite hear him and I wasnt too sure what the word romping means(I know now). Apparently he thought I was banging some girl in the back seat. So I told him I don't have a girlfriend and I just change to new clothes... he goes over and sure enough.. wal-mart bag with clothes. Driving home that day I couldn't stop laughing haha

Superwomenchick you can usually get a few starts off a dead battery by letting the car sit. You can accelerate the recharge by taking the negative connector off the terminal. Unless the battery is old then you're sol. I would of gave you a start... just bought brand new jumper cables that are really heavy duty. Hoping to give them a try

Yeah that's what I did, I let it sit during class and it started after but barely.

My most recent embarrassing moment was just about a week ago. I took the RS for the 1st time after the turbo was put in to the store. I parked in my usual spot next to the 2 WRXs thzt work there. It just so happened thay were both getting off work as I left the store. I turned it on, rolled down my windows opened the moon roof. Gave it a little rev, getting the attention of the 2 young guys that owned the WRXs. Then I backed out all smooth. But when I put it in 1st and went to dive off the clutch stuck so I over revved and then killed it! They laughed and I sped off.:eek:

mmm for me, it's everyday :) hehe i'm bad at driving a standard since i'm still relatively new. i over rev a lot :(

for the first week i kept stalling mine out, accidentally putting it into third... it sucked and made me look like an idiot..

My rear driver side door doesn't lock. I left something in my car while I was at work and forgetting this fact I opened the door to get in my car and my alarm went off. I have hellas.. Lets just say people thought I was breaking into my car. =S

A BMW with a lady on her phone the other day started her car in the wrong gear on a hill. It must have been in 2nd for it to even START to move on the up of a hill. She didn't stall but made lots of noise and caused some back up. :lol:

That's good to know. I had a broken key fob for a bit & just left it unlocked. Not a good feeling.

If you turn the key 3 times in the ignition it will shut off the alarm. It's just easier to manually lock the doors/not use the alarm. :rolleyes:

Hey have you guys ever had a problem with turning the key at all? I went to start my car a couple days ago and it wouldn't freakn turn, I stuck my key in and it wouldn't turn. I freaked out for a good couple minutes then it finally worked. My roommates were probably thinking what the hell I was doing because they can hear when I start my car lol.

turn the steering wheel...sometimes gets into a locked position and just needs to be bumped out by turning wheel.....

Ohhh yeah . . . I remember when I got frustrated I grabbed the steering wheel and shook it that's probably why I got it to work lol. Oops.

^i had a key that got so worn down that it wouldnt turn at all in the ignition... got stuck at a gas station for three hours on black friday waiting for a tow truck... only to get the car home and try one more time and it turned freely(with a little extra coersion).

most embarassing moment in a subaru was when i changed the clutch in my bugeye. took it out to race my buddy's turbo honda. I got the jump on him, went to shift into 2nd gear and heard a loud BOOM...and the car went nowhere. All my friends were watching, drove back to the lot and when i went to leave i got the shifter jammed in 1st gear and couldnt shift... my friends witnessed both... i felt like a tool

I have my share of embarrassing moments every day... like stalling infront of people (cute guys usually... wtf I am not even trying to flirt...)... Over rev (embarrassing since I have the SPT exhaust... people usually think I am trying to be an ass hat...) etc.

But really what I wanted to share was not subie related.

I am currently at work and I have (had) these really cute thong wedge heels that I bought about a month or two ago... well I walked out of my cube to grab something from the printer and I twisted my ankle like the clumbsy girl I am and fell over... the embarrassing part. Having to bear the shame of falling over and I broke my shoe... so I had to walk back to my cube barefoot... :( FAIL

Yeah, thank goodness for the pair of back up shoes i have in my cube... but they really do not match my outfit today... so I continue to wear the shoes of shame! :lol:

U girls work together?? That is so awesome! I don't work with anyone who has a Subie... There are a few car enthusiast but none Subaru. There is a WRX, a Saabaru and an Evo that parks in my building... I have talked to the Evo and WRX before. Lol I think they just thought I was crazy for talking to them in the parking lot lol.

so it was december of 08. i was at my weekly car meet with my friends. we were getting ready to leave and head out to dinner. i'm driving & my boyfriend at the time was in the passenger seat.. its "winter" time so the windows are all hazy/foggy from the cold. i'm backing out of the parking spot and my boyfriend was like... "dont go that way, there are tons of people in the way.. just pull forward through the parked cars" :unamused: okay so i pull forward into the aisle and my windows are so foggy that i cant really see that well.. all of a sudden i hear BAM! CRASH! SLKDFJLK. :lol: come to find out- i cut my wheel too much and ended up hitting my friends BMW. EVERYONE was staring at me. i got out of the car and practically had a nervous breakdown lol. his car was honestly fine- just a few scratches. mine however had a 12"+ scratch down the door/rear quarter panel.. and paint was missing in a few spots.

it's okay. it wasnt that big of a deal because my dad owns an autobody shop so it got fixed & you couldnt even tell that anything happened.


........until i went on vacation last year and someone in the hotel parking lot must have dragged their luggage across the side of my car... in the exact same spot.... :unamused:

That's how we met/how I conned I mean begged I mean convinced Christine to join the website... aaaaand we both worked at a Subaru dealer. :lol: I just got transferred to our VW/Saab location though. Now Christine cries everyday.

they make me work at our VW store from time to time on Saturdays and I HATE it. I despise VW and their "people" I don't make any commission from the parts I sell while I'm there and it's like $60 added to my check(pre-tax of course) for that day at work. I'm trying to think of a gentle way to tell my boss to go fuck himself :lol:

is your parts dept at Subie looking for a Subaru Parts badass? I'll re-locate. There appear to be females interested in Subarus out there and there aren't many here :lol: There is also moar rally racing that way. It's a tropical climate away from perfect!

This happened Friday.
I was driving to a party, when I spotted this nice rex next to me at a stop light. I really liked his ride height so I was going to take a pic to show hubby. They guy driver was on the phone looking the other way. I lift my phone to take the pic and he turns and looks at me. I slowly turn forward, dying inside. What I didn't mention was I was dressed for an 80's themed party, so I had scary bright unnatrual eyeshadow, bright hooker red lipstick and my hair was a good 3 inches off my head due to the ratting. ::doh:: Then I hear him say, "Someone just took a picture of my car." to the person on the phone, laughing. This light took forever, of course! He gets off the phone and says to me, "It's ok." I reply, "Yeah I'm working up to one of those." Then his reply sent me from embarrassed to pissed! "A Subaru." "I'm in a Subaru." I said with a 'your an idiot' look on my face! haha "Just not a nice one." I said as the light turned and we took off.
