Though I still love it dearly, don't get me wrong! haha But everytime I try to do something small to change it, make it more mine I find something else wrong with it! I painted my mirrors and bump strips white. But it didn't match. Check everything and the white I bought should match. Well, it doesn't. I had noticed a few odd thigns dealing with the paint that I should have inspected more before painting anything. Like the "water drops" in a few spots around the bottom of the car. Of course they were always there, ie dripped clear coat. In spots it looked as if the clear coat was chipping, apon closer inspection it is not clear coat, but white paint, chipping to show more and slightly different white paint. There was a few small over spray spots around the windshield. Then the big one, (after having painted everything, of course) after removing a mud flap to find a good chunk of rust, we sanded it down, through 2 layers of different shades of white paint, and added a little white rust stop to it, the dumb @ss had a crappy Maaco paint job done after he smashed the right side of the car. Of course he denies every having an accident. But there are obvious signs, quarter panel not lining up right with the hood, bummper, A bar and the door, front right tire wears differently and there is a large scrap on the rear right bumper. Now, we still would have bought the car knowing it had these problems. It would have made dealing with them easier. But finding things out after starting this or that, then having to fix the crap repair job before what we intended to do is a pain! ::sigh:: Soon, all the previous owners mess ups will be fixed and I can really move on to making this car my own!

I still love my car! :-D

ahhhh..car fax....the joys of buying a used car! I bought a used Jeep Commander to carry our dog arround and had a bunch of problems like that too - I ended up getting rid of it because it had been in an accident and wasnt disclosed to us

I wanted to car fax it, the "tease" they give you before you pay for it, said there were 13 things on their report. Eric was certain they were just everyday repairs/maintanence and I'm sure most were. But not all of them, I knew I should have paid for it, but trusted hubby's opinion.

So far nothing major that puts safety in danger, so I'm ok fixing these stupid things, just don't see why people feel the need to lie!
I'm half tempted to go "visit" Eric's friend, who's neightbor sold us the car. And just happen to see him. I'll start with a kind "Thank you, I love my car." Then head into, "But now that I KNOW it was in an accident, see here, here, here, here and here, I'm kind of sad, losing my trust in the idea there are good people in this world! It would have been easier to fix had we known about the problems to start with, rather than find then after paying money for things that could have waited 'til after fixing the issues."
But Eric won't let me! haha

Maybe it was in an accident before your friends neighbor owned it?

I have friends who have rattle canned their cars ::cough:: AgentRabbit ::cough:: and it looked pretty decent. I think you should do it. Seriously.

I'm trying to hold off on doing the whole thing, though Erin (subygirl) rattle canned her car, twice, and it looks good, better than mine! haha I'm waiting for my Bio-Father to get out of prison in Oct, he is an awesom painter and will do it for the cost of paint. I just need to be patiant and simply fit the crappy stuff and let him paint it when he gets out, he owes me!

And the car only had one owner, so he probably knows it was in an accident. Unless he is that nieve! haha
