I'm not trying to stroke anyone's ego on here. but I give this place 2 thumbs up. It's very rare when you see a devoted community of auto-lovers who are predominantly girls. We only have a small group of female car fans in my hometown, and most of which prove to be somewhat uninterested in really getting to know what they're talking about, even about their own cars. I'm happy as shit that this is a group of subie fans too... i might have cried if i would have found a female ford fan forum before i found this.

this place definitely isn't as perverted as some of the other forums... but at least you girls do a lot better job at staying on topic.:lol:

Yeah this is my favorite forum out of all the ones I go on. I even tell people who don't have subies to join, last night I told a girl who drove a 350z about it lol. It'd be sick if she joined. I think it's a lot easier to ask questions about things on here too because you don't get people telling you that you're dumb or a noob. That crap annoys me.

:-) I knew what you meant. National forums are usually always filled with douche wagons who would rather get on peoples' cases for not using the search feature rather than just asking again. Which is lame because there are a lot of automotive problems that seem similar but are caused by hugely different issues.

When I went on vaca in So Cal a couple years ago I met of with some local girls there. And I just posted somewhere to Bugichic that i'd be in Long Island for a wedding in July so we should plan something. I try to get the girls involved anyway I can. :)

there's several other roads in the area that are considered part of the tail of the dragon "grand tour"... cherohalla skyway, blue ridge parkway... and like 2 or 3 more.

"fast" is relative. I'm sure that i could not take a single member of my family down that road at any speed without getting bitched at for going way too fast. i think the fastest i ever got through there was getting into 4th gear... which is much faster than it seems considering there's not a single straight stretch of road that's longer than 1/8th mile. not to mention it's a good idea to drive it at a SAFER speed at least a few times before really trying to get enthusiastic about it, considering that one side of the road is a mountain face, and the other side can be considered death if you overshoot a corner.

if you're looking for speed, the cherohalla skyway is the road for you, it's a bit longer than deal's gap(the road munky posted) and a lot straighter, definitely did well over 100 trying to keep up with a friend through there.

while the cops tend to look the other way when it comes to people taking "spirited drives" down these roads, they do get a bit pissed if people get out of hand, i.e. crossing the center line, passing people in non designated areas, harassing slower vehicles. it's a highway first, and it's allowed to be fun only if the people enjoying it are doing so in a safe manner.

My sister rides a CBR 600RR and I keep trying to convince her to join a women's bike group (can you tell I'm a feminist?). She has all sorts of excuses. It seems that most of the girls she finds locally to ride with are IDIOTS - so I'm glad she knows how to play it safe on her bike. I'm sad that there aren't more communities like this for women. Another reason I can't get a bike - b/c I can't build another community.... hahahaha.
