Man so I joined this one newer forum and for a little while it was ok, then I posted on a thread someone posted in OT called myspace hoes. So I posted that it was inappropriate and that who cares what they do. I guess that makes me a feminist. Damnit man. Oh and now if I don't put lol after every damn sentence i'm being a sarcastic b!tch. Some guy made fun of me and I really didn't care so I just put idc. He was all like calm down man blah blah blah. I was calm lol. Why can guys dish it out but can never take it. They always talk about how they wish more girls were on the forum and then when one joins it's like a race to piss her off the fastest. I hate men.

Forums are the perfect place for fat, unattractive men to talk shit and feel important about themselves. It's because they get to hide behind their keyboard and monitor, and create an image of themselves that THEY want people to see.
I've been an admin on no less than 10 forums in the past 5-6 years (working on computers nets you a LOT of free time ) and I see it everywhere I go..from tech related forums to car related forums. There's always going to be a douchebag or seven that think they're better than everyone.
My advice : Just leave. Feeding the trolls only make them hungrier.

It's just you know everything's good until I say something neutral. Like i'm supposed to have a pageant smile on my face the whole time. It annoys me how asshurt guys get. They can go ahead and tell some integra owner that he should burn his car, but if I take a statement from and evo owner posting I owned a subaru once that made 400hp in the subaru forum wrong ( I thought he meant beat not actually owned) i'm starting drama. Dude. . . he has an evo. What would you think?

I think if he's taking the internet that seriously, he obviously has more issues than just an inflated ego.

I wouldve cursed them out told them to go find another "hoe" to join their site flipped out big time and asked them to block me from the site after that BS... lol, but I guess thats just my opinion...

i think i've mentioned it before, i got my best friend to sign up on indiana impreza, and she's gotten a rather warm welcome(thus far, the most viewed/posted resume thread yet). but she doesn't have a whole lot of experience with internet forums and i've noticed that she's taken a few things that she shouldn't have a bit more serious than she should have.
as far as your internet bully is concerned, just ask him if he knows what a vagina looks like in real life.

I'm just boycotting it lol, I refuse to go there and associate with a bunch of idiots.
No i'm not a feminist but I will tell a guy when he's being completely disrespectful and vulgar. One guy posted that myspace hoes thread and said "post any bitch you know that applies" I told him and the guys who replied that it was inappropriate and low. I made a point by saying that I don't post naked pictures of men in OT, or even in the NSFW section. One guy said I wanted special treatment, which isn't true I just wanted everyone to be treated equally, what girl wants to get on a forum when her friend could have naked pics posted there? That was what apparently made me a feminist. Oh and some guy was hitting on me and I didn't reply so he got pissy and said I couldn't take a joke. Yeah. . . I can't take a joke because i'm not interested in some bro with a riced out 350z.

You know how men have to have their garage where they can drink with their buddies and have calendars of naked girls? Well and online car forum seems to be the equivalent to that. The only difference is when someone tells them how angry she is about it, he can't see her face to know just how pissed off she is.
Whats the name of this forum so I can boycott it w/ you? :D

Me three!
The other forum I am on www.slcsubaru.com I think is the only forum made by a bunch of dude that I really enjoy being on. A lot of the guys on that site are some of my friends. Im sure if anyone from here joined on there you would be welcomed.
Other than that I stray away from the other forums.

slcsubaru FTW! Seriously, I hate online forums for the most part. I feel like people take jokes too seriously. I, like the OP, don't feel the need to add a smily face or a 'lolzzz' after everything I say. But, I'm not being serious all of the time. SLCsub can take jokes, because I know 95% of these guys. And new people are always welcome, definitely.
I like the vibes of this forum too, because you ladies are funny. I don't post often, but I lurk a lot. and enjoy it. haha.

Why are women embarrassed to be feminist? You're a woman and you should be proud to be one. Do you believe in equal rights? Being a feminist does not mean burning your bra and man hating. There are lots of different kinds of feminists. Radical feminists, Socialist feminists, Liberal feminists and more.
I pretty confident that if you're a member of this forum you're probably a feminist whether you think so or not. Educate yourselves and be proud!!

What I meant was i'm not one of those crazy feminists who goes around insulting men and always in a bad mood and stuff, that's what they meant by it, like i'm coming on their forum hating on men all the time, which wasn't true. I don't think i'm radical in any means but I have no problem telling men they're being disrespectful. What I wanted was to be treated just like a friend, but they either took me too seriously or took my jokes too seriously. And then they got pissed when they thought I was pissed when I wasn't. It was all a stupid little dance.

Well said! I took a class about the feminist movement and how its evolved. And how any woman who expects fair treatment is a feminist. Its important to consider ourselves all feminists if we expect equal treatment.

you would not believe how much fun i'd be having on internet forums if i was a woman. aside from indiana impreza, where my friend is breaking the forum record with the largest resume thread(even without owning a subaru)... most forums i've been on get really nervous when girls are on there.
as far as ricey imports... name of said forum, i really feel like getting banned for making fun of underbody lights.

I originally took the class to fill a liberal arts requirement, but I really enjoyed the class. It made me realize a lot. The first day we did is survey. The first question "Do you think you are a feminist?" most of us answered no, but by the end we all answered yes.

Meh, a forum is only as good as the admins. You'll always have flamers that get in a fight, we usually let it go. The problem is if the flaming continues you usually just ban his account and ip. If not then that is why those forums are made like they are. Most guys are like that and will always think they have something better or are better than you and again... wont let it go. Even at a bar you'll find guys rude, touching girls and yelling at them and dwindle them. Even the guys with girl friends let these bone heads walk all over their girls. You can tell she don't like it so grow balls and step in.
The good ones that listen to you and hear what you have to say are the nice places. Hell i even learn shit because im open to that... im not going to fight with someone because im right or wrong.

i personally that kinda protective kinda dude when around women but not overly where its over powering or weird or whatever. I just don't like other dudes treating ladies like crap (unless the girls being a bitch for no reason of course)

Yeah, I took a couple of classes to fill other requirements and they happened to also fall under women's studies. My adviser was the head of the women's studies dept. so it was easy for her to tell me I could do both without having to take extra classes.
I took so pretty crazy/wierd classes but learned a lot. The funniest part is that of all the classes I took, only ONE was based on statistics and truly about the history of women and the things they have done in history for equal rights etc. So it was a very non-bra burning experience.

Why do you always go on these stupid ricer forums?? You know from prior experience that these guys are rude!! You've posted several threads about it already. You know they are just going to be disrespectful and make you mad. Why do u always put yourself in these situations where you know from the start you are just going to end up getting upset?? If I were you, I would stay away from these "import" forums...You know what your going to find there already...my .02...

I'm with Melissa on this one. Not all forums are private. Maybe preview them for a week or more before you join so you have a better idea of whether its a good forum or a bunch of keyboard warriors.
I bet you'd have waaaaay better luck and results that way. Hope that helps!

That happened to me also on some gaming forums. Those egotastic loser guys that have no life are so bored when they see a woman in a mostly "man territory" they are all trying to start some sh*t :/ and most of em are really immature like "tits or gtfo". They think because you are a girl you don't know anything about what you joined for. And youre right, its like were not allowed to have a sense of humor or be sarcastic.. godforbid we dont say lol after every sentence! :( I just leave the forum or ignore them, I dont let it get to me emotionally because its totally not worth it. I just say something witty back and leave :D On a side note i noticed most Evo owners are jerks!
