if not, how did you get into being a subaru enthusiast?

As for me, my boyfriend drives an 06 and he got me into it. Before I met him, I was still into cars, but not as much as I am now.. I actually wanted an RX-8 at first.. then realized that would've been a huge mistake considering its RWD (I live in the east coast) and it has a rotary engine and would've been hard to fix if broken.. well enough about failure mazdas.. how about you girls?

I've always been a subie and car fan. My first car was a 95 Impreza that was my dad's. Ever since I saw rallying on TV, I've wanted an STi. So I got one as soon as I could :D

I actually met my BF at a Subie/STi meet. He drives an STi too.

I wanted to rice out my Eclipse years ago. Then was debating getting a Mustang. Thankfully I met my now husband! Before him I only new Subaru for the Outback and for a short time the Legacy, neither really impressed me at the time. Then I saw his RS and was in love with his car before I was in love with him! haha Now I have my L and plans in place to buy either a Forester or WRX in the next 2 years. We'll have 3, possibly 4 Subies when we're done buying cars! haha

And our boys all point out the Subies in parking lots saying that is what they want! Good boys!

I was never a big car fan. I thought they were neat, but never wanted one for more than just transportation. Then my boyfriend got his Grand Am and started to show me the stuff they could do to a basic Grand Am. My parents have owned Subarus for over ten years now and I loved the safety you felt in driving one. I learned how to drive with my mom's Baja. However my legacy didn't impress me at all. I felt like an idiot driving that car. However now that I finally have a car that I love I love my subie. And my boyfriend is more interested in Subies as we speak!

^^ I'm glad I'm not the only one that had no idea what an STi was, I dind't even know what an Impreza persiod was!
Eric told me all proud, "I drive an Impreza RS." I was like, "Oh, yeah, that's cool." (Ya know because he made it sound impresive.) Then I ran around for 2 days at work (this was pre-internet for me) trying to find someone that had or could discribe what the heck I was going to be looking for when I got to the restaraunt. haha

I am heavily into DSM's, always like the Boxster rumble so I got a Subaru once my job situation became steady enough. It's funny, I actually convinced the b/f to get an Evo 9 MR, then I jumped ship and got a WRX

^^^Subiemommy, I have a similar story.

My ex had on 05 RS, brand new at the time. He picked me up for our first date and I was like, ur car's cute!! What is it?? He also said, super proud, its an Impreza!! Then we proceeded to make it to the movies in 15 mins!! A drive that normally takes a little over a half an hr

I remember helping him clean up his room one day and I found a piece of mail advertising Subiefest. I was like WTF is a Subie?? He was like is a Subaru!! I could not stop laughing!!! We went to Subiefest and I was just in awe about how close the community was, not to mention, I thought the cars were hottt!! So, with my lil sis learning to drive, and me going to have to share my parents Toyota Echo that I was driving, I entered the market for my very own car. I knew right away that I wanted a Subaru. In October of 07 I bought my baby brand new!! My current BF has an 05 STi, oh and his daily driver, a 93 Legacy!! :p Our driveway is always filled with subies!! :D

Husband has an 04 WRX Red Wagon. I never really liked Subarus... always thought of those somewhat annoying Outback commercials with the Australian narrator... I still don't like all Subarus (sorry if I offended anyone), but ours are fun :)

I have always been a fan of rally racing and imports. Always wanted an RSX but that was before I knew anything. When I met my hubby he was driving an OZ Rally (I guess it would be to the Evo what the WRX is to the STI) and I thought that was pretty cool. Then he kept saying he wanted a WRX. I didn't know too much about them but my parents drove an Outback so one day I finally said, why don't you go ahead and get one before your car starts losing its trade-in value. Took several months to find the right one. He got an 04 silver WRX. I was driving a tC and got the turbo itch....so one day I was searching the internet and found my Bettie!! Never looked back!! :p

My husband has a 94 ford probe and at the time I had an 07 Caliber. We always wanted an Evo, or STI, we didn't picture them as family cars. In November about 3 weeks before I had our son we bought an 01 Passat and a 94 Mit. 3000gt from an auction. we sold the 3000 and keep the passat as a daily driver. Some friends were over and we were just looking at cars on auto trader and this black STI shows up and it was about 25 mins from our house. We made a crazy decision to go look at it the next day and we made an extreme impluse decision and traded in the Caliber and drove away with the STI. I love it and it does make a decent family car.
I used to help my dad with cars when I was little but lost it as I got into high school and when I started dating my now husband he got me back into it. We have a 4 car garage and we are constanly having people over to work on cars and just hang out and have fun. :)

as a few of you i was into cars before subies... but it was american muscle or nothin. all i can remember before subies was craving a dodge charger. then the fast and furious movies came out and i was somewhat interested before realizing that i lived in the wrong area for that.
went out on a date with a guy, him and his friends would use 393 in concord as a drag strip at night and one of his friends had a wrx... loved it. so i became more interested.
then i met my current boyfriend while i was working for him at valvoline. sorry, he was the asst manager and didnt want me there to begin with. he was horrible. and then he drove the STI down one day and i started looking at him differently. the first weekend we spent together he took me to a subie meet with NES... so yeah...
i just hope if things go sour i wont feel like it was "our" thing and get out of them...

When I first met Ed he drove a 94 legacy gt w/ 234,000 miles no joke. I wasnt impressed, nor interested in subies at that point . I was more into luxury....We went from that to an 8 cyl Infiniti, then to an 04 wrx. Honestly I thought it was ugly, but after learning to drive stick it grew on me. Then we started modding and it reeealy grew on me :D. I immediatly became addicted to boost and dont think will drive anything w/o it. Then about a yr later he spun a bearing and we decided to look for something else, Ed was very close to getting a speed6, until I found the STi private sale, I convinced him to get it, although it didnt take much convincing lol... Then last yr I attended WBM and fell in love w/ the love within the community and thats what has me into them now, for me its not so much the cars, its the community, cuz if I had it my way Id be driving an 06 Evo MR... i kno i kno, i just love them, but I love subies as well, they are both great cars with awsome potential...

My boyfriend does not have a subaru, but my dad actually really got my brother and I into cars (mostly american muscle, he has a 69 camaro). I got into subies because I loved the body style of the 05 and newer, and finally wound up getting an 05! Im working on converting my boyfriend, because he loves my car so much, but it doesnt look like its going to happen any time soon =(

My boyfriend has a 2004 black WRX. Not going to lie I wasn't always as into cars as I am now. My boyfriend and guy friends had a lot to do with my fondness for cars.
My boyfriend's WRX is stage 2. He just bought BC Coils. He is getting really antsy to install those. I love his car. Its so so pretty. :)
I owned a VW Jetta GLS before the subie and my god I am never ever owning a VW again. Unless its an R32 :P

I'm a 100% self-inspired SubieGirl!

Ever since I was a kid, I've always had a thing for Rally cars (primarily Evo's!)

I finally made the better choice between an 09 Lancer Ralliart (couldn't afford an EvoX) and my 08 WRX... And instantly involved myself in the Subaru community as soon as I bought it.

About a year into my Subie owndership, I started dating my bf (who's always been a Honda guy), who wants to become a SubieGuy :) He's currently saving up for a Bugeye! Woot! :p

I'm pretty new the subie world but have always been a car enthusiast. I had plans for my first car, a civic, but with college and work, it never really happened. My hubby is also a car junkie and currently has a '93 RX-7, yup with a rotary engine. :P We've had it for about 5 years now. But this year, we needed to replace the civic and we needed something with a bit more room. We started looking for small suv's but I didn't want a van or a full-size suv, i wanted something with power! lol! I have a friend with a WRX, she loves it to death, and after much shopping around and test drives...i now have an '07 forester xt sport.

My dad is into classic cars. I grew up going to car shows with him. He's a contractor and good with his hands, unfortunately, not mechanically inclined.

He's owned quite a few cool cars (and motorcycles) in his day. I wish he had even ONE of them now. He almost bought one a few years ago, but, alas, too much body rust.

The ex that I bought my car from is a VW guy that was going through a Subaru phase. He peaked my interest in imports. About 6 months - a year after I bought my car I really got into it.

i prefer to date girls that don't have much interest in cars. i dated a chevy girl for a while and it always led to problems, especially when i'd beat her precious pushrod powered cars.

there have been others, they all liked my car and the way that i drove but it was always a bit of conflict when i started talking bad about other brands...

I got into Subarus when I was dating a guy who had a wrx. I would have bought an STi, but he gave me hell even thinking about it. I fell in love with my LGT when the Subaru dealer was trying to get me interested in something else. I don't regret getting my LGT, but I got rid of that guy, and the guy I've been dating for the past 2 years just sold his c5 z06 for a 2010 wrx last month :)

nice. Yeah my bf didnt want me getting an STI either, i think cause of a few reasons,
1. i would be faster
2. its horrible in mpg
3. he thinks its too fast for me (i like to speed)

I grew up involved in cars, being that I spent every weekend at my dads buy here/pay here car lot. :unamused: My first job was putting kitty litter over the oil spills in the bays at the age of 6 and it progressed from there. By the time I was 15 I was changing batteries, alternators, spark plugs, wires, basically easy stuff. Then I became a teen age girl and wanted to hang with my friends, but made my way back home. ;)

I originally was into muscle cars, I owned a 99 Camaro 3.8L and then I had a 25th year anniversary Trans Am 5.7L. The motor blew in the TA, so I strolled onto the Tom Wood Subaru dealership to look at a used TA that they had on the lot. I wasn't impressed with the TA and was about to leave, when I was convinced to test drive a used stock WRB 04 STi. Needless to say, I WAS impressed :D I drove it home on April 16 2006. My dad about flipped his wig when I told him that I bought a car from a dealership. He's like, we could'a got that sooooo much cheaper at the auction. I said good luck finding an STi at the auction that isn't a lemon or about to explode. Once he drove it, he understood and gave it the father seal of approval.

I joined Indiana Impreza in April 2007 and that's where I met my fiance'.

He has a 2009 Lagacy natural asp that he uses for his daily driver and a 12 second, heavily modded, track beast, CGM 05 STi.

Subarus are all we own. BadGrlSTi and I have had Subarus as long as we've been together. We actually met at a Subaru meet (imagine that). It was like any other Subaru meet, or so I thought.

So I pull up to find the parking lot crowded and pull around back. I parked, got out and heard an angry rumble unlike any other Subaru I've heard. I look to see whats making this sick exhaust note and I see a black STi. As it pulls past me I see this girl driving it and catch a glance that changed my life forever. It was one of those looks that pierced my meager existence. After I came down to planet earth It was time to get back to the meet.

A group of us were hanging out about to eat as her and her friend sat down. Being new to the scene we (my friend and I) sat down at their table and introduced ourselves and chatted a bit. She had this sass about her that said "I'm not looking for a boyfreind" but really didn't stop me from trying to flirt. After a few hours at sonic we decided to head to the causeway (race/hangout spot). On the way there I play wingman and stay at her passenger door to make sure the group doesn't lose her on the way there.

We're there for a while and we're talking and bullshittin' and I'm getting more attracted to her by the minute. So we head off to another race spot, one I had not been to before. More conversing occurred and I thought to myself; "Self, do not let this girl get away from you" So we exchanged numbers and headed of for the night after the fuzz rained on our parade.

On the way home I already wanted to call her, I know corny right? So she picks up and I told her my cell phone dropped under my seat. We talked for a while and I got a real good vibe that I might have penetrated her shield of relationships.

Within what seems like a few days we fell in love, got married and had a beautiful little girl (same sass as her mother). Traded in my old 06 WRX due to the little one coming and bought an 08 Forester XT sports. Liked it but hated the automatic. Traded that one on for our current 08WRX which is cool but I like our STi better.

I give all the credit to my 06 WRX (chick dig the blue ones) Gretchen.:D

My husband currently drives a VW, but has owned an RS in the past (& misses it). In fact he bought it when I was seriously looking at one, prompting me go w/ another Legacy. I didn’t want to have matching cars…reminded me of my parents wearing matching jackets…I have had an attraction to Subarus since I was a kid & relatives had a GL wagon…I thought it was the coolest thing that their car was off-road capable vs. a big ridiculous truck. I’ve always felt Subies had an ugliness about them, but it’s about function – not fashion, which only makes me appreciate them more.

My husband was really into Honda's/Acura's. Then when I got my first Legacy he started looking more and more at WRX's. I traded my '05 for the SPecB and then he got an '04 WRX. Parted and traded for a brand new '09. Bad storm came and we got water in the engine and they totaled it :( Worked out well cause we got the '08 beast.

I wish my boyfriend did! he's not much of a Subaru person. he used to hae an srt4 but he was close to getting an 08 sti a year ago, but the one he was looking at had tons of motor issues...so he got the 2010 gencoupe instead! I was devistated hahaha But as much as I love subies, I absolutely love his car (other than the fact that his is now faster than mine! gr!)

My ex got me into Subarus. She had an '04 WRB STI, completely stock. I LOVED that car. Fastest car i had ever driven. She got into so much trouble in that thing, so many speeding tickets. I loved driving that car.

Then she put it into a jersey wall at 65mph in the snow/ice on an overpass at midnight.

Famous last words before she left work to come back home that night "it's got all wheel drive, i'll be perfectly safe."

My first car was an automatic honda civic . I thought I had the best car  lol This was like.. in 2002/3?ish? Im brain dead...I cant remember that far back.
Anyway, in 2004, my fiance decides its time for us to buy a car together. He says he wants a Subaru Impreza WRX. I say, WTF is that? I complained left and right about the car... Im thinking he's going to race it and ram it into the wall on the highway or something... we argued, he won. lol I vowed never to drive the car. Sold my Civic in December and moved to Chicago. We have the WRX, but I dont know the first thing about driving a manual, the car scares me, I want nothing to do with driving this car.
So, car purchased in July 2004. We move back to FL in late 2007 and now my commute to work is 26 miles each way. I never drive the car until  June 2008. My husband got tired of driving me back and forth to work every day and one day told me to get in the &%I#*@&^ car and drive it. Well, I practiced with him for 3 days and he wasnt very nice. lol. So, one day I just took the keys and decided to drive to work. I was scared out of my mind like a little wimp. Ive been driving it every day since and cannot BELIEVE I waited so long to drive it. It has changed me.

My bf just sold his 87 4runner. Currently he is working on his 82 s10 bagged and body dropped. He wants another euro, like a mkII gti with a built VR6, or a B5 S4 audi wagon. I really want a late 90s V70 volvo wagon. So much to choose from and not enough room in the driveway!

My fiance bought an '01 2.5RS our junior year of high school. My boyfriend of the time had a 240 and I hated it. Once I saw the Impreza I knew it was the car for me. Needless to say, we have been together for 8 years now, getting married in July of next year and he currently owns a swapped '93 wagon and I have a '98 RS. He guided me into the Subaru community but I had always been interested in cars.

My first car was a Subaru, and I tried as hard as I could to kill that stupid car because I hated it. It had a trunk rack and it was that ugly red brick color...yuk  but it just wouldn't DIE!! I drove it for about 6 months or so with a cracked block and you wouldn't have really known it. I had that car forever and little did I know then that I would end up buying another Subaru let anlone 2. When I met my husband I had a diesel Excursion - yup urban yuppy soccer mom vehicle..I know . I didnt have much experience with imports other than I thought they looked cool. He was hot, had tats and I was drawn to him cause he looked like trouble  of course. He quickly showed me what was up - at the time he had a nasty CRX that wasn't anything to look at but it was a beast & a slammed Integra! Sooo I traded in my GIANT Excursion in 06 and purchased an 05 Acura RSX-S.....and fell in  - both with the car, and with him...go figure right  So we move from Florida to Mass, his CRX & Integra could have never even came close to passing inspection here so he sold them before we moved. When we got here he was looking at the Evo, but since I worked at Subaru we started looking at the WRX against my wished because I hated the old one I had..or so I thought (lol)
Anyway, he bought an 08 WRX and had a lot of issues with it so Subaru bought it back & thankfully we didnt have anymore 08's in stock so he got an 09 WRX. After driving his 09 - I quickly placed my order for a 10 white WRX hatch...and waited..and waited...and waited 6 months later I saw the truck pull in with her & I made the guy get her off as fast as he could so I could check it out..and the rest is as they say history

This sounds somewhat familiar. I wanted the 2010 White Hatch and as soon as I found one locally it sold like a hotcake... :( Then finally after working with Annapolis Subaru, Amanda (the girl who was helping me) called and said she found a white hatch in a different state (150+ miles from Annapolis, MD) and was able to somehow trade one of their cars for Sno Kone. I was jumping off my chair in excitement. I drove up that weekend hoping to just "look at the car" but no I ended up buying it :)

Theres no car that is male or female specific. Its a matter of taking your time to do research before chosing a vehicle. There are cars that have certin stigmas to them but, lets keep a good rep girls and keep educating ourselves on our own cars and other makes and models. Thats what keeps us well rounded in the car world.

We currently own 3 Subies... We are trying to sell one... so we will be down to only one car payment... and he will have a new "project" car... He picked up a 95 Leggy for $1100 and is already working on big plans for it... and collecting parts to fix it...

I am Driving the 02 WRX... I requested Pink wheels for christmas if it was to be my new car...

We are selling our 99 OBS... before that my husband had another Legacy Sedan... and another Impreza Wagon...

My hubbie is into cars, but he is kinda all over the place. He was (is?) a Honda guy, then when I bought my Subaru he said he might have to reconsider that. But then after he wrecked his Honda he went and bought a Golf. So I'm not sure where his loyalties are.

I got started into Subaru by doing AWD research. There was only one logical answer...

For me, the word is you want someone to complement, not complete you. In other words, not just like you but not too different either. If you don't have enough "core" interests it makes it a lot harder to keep the wheels of the relationship from falling off. "Now why exactly do you like to work on cars and stuff so much?" (after so many YEARS :( ). Too many differences and you may SUFFER the consequences. :o

oh, and be sure and take the personality tests and such too before getting too far down the road with anyone.

It's been a long time since I've dated a non-car guy. But I feel like a non-car would have to be REALLY confident to be okay with my knowledge (I had a neighbor who said he felt emasculated by me b/c I knew about cars) or cars and my mostly male friends.

I've been a Subaru lover practically since the day I was born! My dad (who used to be a mechanic working in shops, but now works for bart) owned one from 1982-2003 and then he got a 2005 STI right off the truck! My older brother also followed my dad's footsteps and has a 1999 2.5 RS with a hybrid STI/WRX swap.

As for my boyfriend, he drives an AP1 S2k. He admitted to wanting to get an Evo before we met, but now he's a total Subie guy! I'm convincing him to get a Subie next :) Possibly an older ('99ish) Outback Sport.

A few months later we sold my shitty car and I got the RS. <3. For how much I love my RS I do miss that turbo. I've thought about trading my baby in; just waiting for perfection to come my way.

I met my bf at my very first subaru meet. The next day we had waffles and did oil changes on the cars. I must say - probably the best first date i've ever had :D

He had a WRX at the time. I have a WRX, too, but I have the STI wing. He soon got wing envy and had to get an STI.

Hey, I know how that is... I know it's hard to date a girl unless she knows cars or has the same interest.

I drove a toyota before meeting my now husband and He drives ONLY subarus...you couldn't make him buy something else if it was the last car on earth. He'd walk! LOL he's the one that really got me into subarus...I had always thought they were "Only wagons" until they came out with the Impreza's though....With that and the WRX editions I started noticing them. But Ya the man got me into subies!

I've always been into cars....
When I was little, I always picked the hot wheel with my kids meal, not the barbie.

My first vehicle was a Ford Explorer that I lifted and put big tires on and beat the crap out of offroad. I did most all the maintenance on it myself and a lot of the modifications myself.
I then purchased an Outback because I couldn't afford a WRX yet and I knew Subies were the ULTIMATE winter vehicle and I used to work at the pass and drive up there every week. Only thing I ever did to the Outback was put wheels on it.
The WRX was MY dream car and my husband(then boyfriend) was more than happy to back up my choice of getting it.

He doesn't have a Subie himself but is a HUGE Toyota guy. And is super into all awesome cars in general.
We met out in the woods off-roading, me in the Explorer and him in his Toyota-buggy.
He has had at least 16 Toyotas since I've know him.
He is currently building a Toyota Cressida (what Lexus originally came from) to drift and it's pretty cool and unique. He's more into drifting but enjoys my Subie.

His Cressida.

sort of. He drives my other Subie currently. He used to have an 03 WRX and 05 STI.

the ex drives my former 99 RS. We used to have his 07 STI, my 08 STI, my old 05 LGT, etc. Got rid of all of them and i sold my RS to him last summer. Regretted it because it has much sentimental value (belonged to my best friend and I was with him when he bought it brand new back in 98). Kinda pains me to know the ex has it, but he takes care of it quite well and autox's the car. I give him credit there, he is pretty good driver.

He's the reason I've got mine.

He got into them a few years back and ever since he's been talking about how awesome they are. I really liked them as well and the word spread though others (my brother loved them as well) and I knew that when my Civic was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it would be replaced with a Subie.

He does all the work on 'em. In all honesty I don't know much about cars, but I do know that I love this thing.

The fiancee is ok too, I guess.

I've been into cars since I was about 19, when I got my first car. :) All of my boyfriends have been into cars too. I met my current boyfriend at a Subaru meet. He drove a hot looking 07 Garnet Red pearl WRX and over several weeks we discovered we had the same interests besides subarus and three years later - still together. :) Due to an unfortunate weather incident, he no longer has the WRX but now drives an 04 STI. :)

D.C., Baltimore, Delaware, Jersey, Philly. I'm down in Hampton Roads area of Virginia, practically North Carolina. I feel cut off from the world down here and my family is in Jersey, 20 minutes from Philadelphia. I want to get closer to home. Like preferably within 2-3 hours. 1-1.5 would be perfect.

His family lives here in Hampton Roads. He doesn't want to leave. I'm not asking him to. Being as we have absolutely NOTHING in common (a fact that came about once we lived under the same roof ) I don't think there is enough to keep this afloat long distance so we agreed to end it.

I married someone who I had nothing in common with but the past and the expectations of others that we should be together (couple that looks good on paper blah blah blah) Now, I just want to be single and enjoy ME and maybe some dating. :D

I'm working on a divorce (once I can afford it since he seems to think I need to pay for everything even though I gave him everything we had together)
BUT

I've always been into cars and bikes. I had a 2001 Mustang Mach 1 when we met and it was pissing me off. For one i've always had jobs that didn't have snow days (EMS). So driving that car in the snow was a major PITA! I was looking into getting another MKIV Supra (had a 95 non turbo that I miss terribly) when he found a killer deal on the STi. The STi was and always has been his dream car. Too bad it's mine ;) hah

I LOVE this freakin' car though! Really glad I didn't go with my dream car the TT Supra. While it would have been nice - they are expensive to work on and still suck in the snow.

Now it seems everyone just makes fun of my car :( calls it a boy racer car. Then again all of my current buddies are all cops and I have a 3" turbo back exhaust and illegal tint ;) And they all race me and fail horribly :) One of the city cops just got a 2011 Charger so that's the next line up!! I say if it wins I can always go home and get the bike. I KNOW they can't beat it! lol

I kind of think douches are common in all car groups. Lord knows when I had the Z I met TONS. Same when I was in the VW scene. Hell thats why I gave a well manicured middle finger to the VW/Audi crowd and bought a Honda. A car is a car is a car. There's nothing that makes one better than the other unless we're comparing a Z to say an F430. I've lucked out so far. Most of my male Subie friends are cool. Hell, my best guy friend is a Subie guy and while he can be a pain in the arse from time to time, he's not a douche. When I had my Z, my handful of guy friends with Z's were cool but for the most part, I came across a lot of men marinated in Vinegar and Water. When I had my SI it was early on and I usually had the most heavily modified car at a meet. Now that the 8thgen is 5 years old, they're a dime a dozen and Beiberwannabes drive them. My point is, doucheness is just a thing that any group has regardless of make. :)

when I was in 7th grade my parents bought this lovely thing ... I loved it b/c we used it in the winter time for a snowboard lift i would snowboard down our big hill and then my mom would pick me up at the bottom and i would ride back up. When I met my husband, I was always into Evos. He got an Eclipse but soon afterwards sold it for his 2000 2.5 RS (soon to be swapped). Now we're rivals (I'm faster-HAHA...for now). I'm gonna stick with my Evo but the joy of having a significant other that's into cars is being able to drive their cars and talk to them in depth without feeling belittled (though that depends on the type of guy you get involved with). It's like adding to your collection. XD

You can bet that once his car is swapped, I will be taking it out for a test run! I would say I've always been interested in cars, but now I'm completely immersed in the car scene and for that, I have to give credit to the hoosband.

I was always a car girl. Raised in the waiting room of the shop my worked worked in I always enjoyed the passion.
In high school (10 years ago now geez I'm old) I had a bf with an SVX and I fell in love(with the SVX) now ten years later I still have an SVX(my 2nd) and obviously as hs bf's go he is gone but my bf of @3yrs has a subie, we met in the subie club and he has a WRX. He actually just got an svx for a daily driver as well.

I would love a new legacy but I don't know if I could transition to a different model of Subie I think I'm stuck on svx's for now. lol

my husband doesn't have a subie yet but he wants an STi for a daily...we just need to move closer to his work, lol. He currently has an FD RX7 as a toy and a civic for a daily. I also have a civic for my daily, an s2000 for a toy, and a Jeep for winter :)
oh yeah, and the Forester as future "project SF STi"

Well, my good friend was the one who got me into Subie's. I owned a '01 Honda Accord a few years back when the weather decided to dump 2 feet of snow overnight (I was living in Wyoming at the time). Unable to get my car unstuck my friend drove me to work and i swear we were the only car on the road. Everyone else was driving 4wd pick-ups. Her subaru really amazed me instantly at how easily it took on the deep snow. Not to long after I met my husband through her and he was also an enthusiast from Southern California. He has kept me going with Subaru's and has been teaching me more and more about them.

i have been into cars from the first day i got my license, I had never driven a stick before and all the guys i hung out with thought that it would be funny for me to try on one of their gti's with a stg 2 clutch.....(thinking it would just stall and they would all get a good laugh) well i got in and was determined-got the car into gear and took off.....all i remember is hearing the kid say "o shit" and start running after me.....hahaha.

I have been in love with subarus since i was really young though because my Aunt had a legacy sedan and she drove it like she stole it and i LOVED every second of it!!!! I would always sit with her and tell her when it was time to shift (i was about 5 or 6). a couple of ex's have had subarus-one had an 06 sti and the other had an 03 wrx. Funny enough I was always the subaru lover and the ex was a dead set evo lover....needless to say i won the argument and converted him!!!

Im just starting to get back into it though...the last 2 guys I have dated (prolly about 3 yrs now) have not been car guys WHAT so ever so i have fallen away from it for a while but I finally got to get a wrx of my own and coulndnt be happier!!!!

but i might just get it .. :) Be a little faster then him even though he says i can't handle it .. im sure i can. lol

nice. Yeah my bf didnt want me getting an STI either, i think cause of a few reasons,
1. i would be faster
2. its horrible in mpg
3. he thinks its too fast for me (i like to speed)

its okay though im happy with my WRX.

My bf and our best friend is against me having an an sti also. Said it's "too much car for me." And that the turbo is too much for me to handle... So, I ended up with a 03 wrx wagon lol. When I mentioned I would like to get a new turbo on it - I was told no because it's too much turbo for me. It must be a guy thing...

(even i miss it !) he misses it so much especially because the new one is an A/T -i promised that i will let him drive the wrx though:D

Yeahh, he says " Go ahead get the sti, you'll regret it .. its way to much money .. you can get a wrx and put money into it and make it just as fast... " But it stil ISNT a STI ..
My old car that i just sold was a mitsubishi gst and it was on 360 whp and 26 psi. :) So i don't understand whyyyyyy the NO NO for the sti. I already had a faster car and drove it just FINE :D

He says he is getting an STI in a few years .. and i should get mine then ..
and he ALWAYS says how his car HAS to always be better then mine..

my bf got me into subarus. He helped me get my first car which was a subaru. Then I got a saab, he got another subaru, but very recently he broke his leg in maine which forced me to learn stick (like the day I had to drive his car back to our vacation home in maine to meet up with my grandmother so she could drive me to the hospital to meet him lol cause the ambulance was taking him there) it was AWFUL. I had to stop on this ridiculous hill... I stalled twice almost started crying couldn't get the car moving. I had only driven it once before and I'd been out on the water sitting with him where he broke his leg waiting for them to get him out by boat, everytime I had to go to the car I had to climb up a 100 foot incline. Sooo I pulled myself together and launched it :D up hill. lol I wasn't sure how bad that was... but I was NOT getting stuck. And well I've been in love ever since. I won't lie its been such a bumpy ride. But my friend has an sti and shes great support cause if I have a question the bf just expects me to know. Soooo... ya. Before that he had a 2001 s2k. such an amazing car, just not practical 4 new england. AND before that, when I met him he had a 2G eclipse.

haha ahh nice. apparently it's hard to convert muscle car guys into import car guys. :p

For some guys yes, it's really hard to argue with guys who don't have an open mind about imports but it's all about personal preference. Haha. My boyfriend grew up around american classic and muscle cars, he currently has a 78 Mustang for a project but he also love imports because he talked me into getting a manual subie. Nice truck and car!, I drive a cummins 12V but I don't have the power of the new diesels out there. My 12V is putting down 355HP with 632 torque. I put it to work that is for sure. I don't mind throwing a few pieces of wood in the bed or hauling friends from dorm to dorm when college starts. Trucks are a lot different than cars and I can vouch for that. I also have a 06WRX and a blow apart STi.. being single it's to hard to maintain it all.:(

After dating my ex for a while he bought a 2003 bugeye WRX wagon. After dating for a while we decided to move to Texas, which meant I needed to learn how to drive stick fast in order to drive the car there. I learned the hard way driving across the US and man was it nerve wrecking.
So, I learned and we moved to Texas. He tried selling the car twice and I REFUSED.

Then I dumped him and bought the car from him cause I loved it so much.
I liked to think I won out on the whole deal.
