Subie dont like deer!

this happened back in feb. but this is what happens after a nice dinner with your boyfriend and driving back home wen BAM!!! deer runs out and instead of me running straight into it i swirved and it hit side of car making my front tire lock up and causing me to cross the road go into the ditch and run my car along a barbed wire fence.

for some reason i cant just get the pics on the page so i had to put em as attachments drove me crazy for at least 10-15 min so i gave up lol

yah it died and it was pregnant cuz my bf got out looked at the car and walked down to find the deer and see if i killed it and he goes oh hun you blew the ass right off it cuz the baby was laying in the middle of the road

Omg that is so sad. I would have felt terrible and I would have just broke down crying.

Wow. My boyfriend did like 5 grand in damage when he hit a deer up here. Was is covered by insurance?

Yeah, you really can't total out that car, the frame is perfectly fine. There is minor damage to the hood and to the driver side panel. The hood is about 1K to get replaced and the driver side panel is 600$ panted wrb from the factory. Door shell is 380$ and the minor scratches (looks more like hair) can be buffed and repainted. The scratches are the hard part. As you can see it's about 2K for that and then what ever there is for labor. The wheel looks tweaked too but suspension parts are pretty cheap these days. I would say it's fine but I would check all the ball joints to see whats up. From my point of view I would say 3-4K, 8k is just silly.

Oh and a mirror which is like 200$ haha Glad you're okay.

I don't think most insurance companies cover being hit by a deer unless you have a special waiver which increases your premium. At least that's what my friend who's trying to get into the industry told me.

Here in VT its a law that if they pay for collision coverage the insurance companies have to pay for hitting a deer. Or at least thats what I believe. My bf hit a deer with his car and the repairs were fully paid for by his insurance company.

yah it was covered by insurance and it runs better then ever now lol but yah i needed all that stuff repaired as well as a new battery lol it had a hole right through it and then a new radiator cuz that got all messed up but o well at least i go tmy baby back lol
