inappropriocity at work!

so, yesterday i was making a phone call to united healthcare because they processed someones copay wrong and i wanted them to reprocess the claim. united's customer service is in india so keep that in mind. anyway, i get this guy and usually i write down the rep's name but i didn't catch it and figured i'd get it at the end of the call. our conversation goes like this:

guy: how's the weather?
me: rainy.
guy: oh that's cool. do you like the rain?
me: no, it's been raining for like 2 weeks now.
guy: oh, cool.

a little bit of awkward silence.

guy: what do you do on weekends?
me: i'm sorry, what was that?
guy: what do you do on weekends?
me (semi-flustered): uhhh, are you still pulling up the claim?
guy: yes, is it okay if i talk to you though while i'm pulling it up?
me: no, i just want to have this claim reprocessed.
guy (all sultry-like): okay baby.

SERIOUSLY?! you're working at united not 1800phonesex! gah! i hung up on him because i was so flustered and totally didn't expect that. i may be over reacting but work is work. i ended up calling back and speaking with a supervisor. i'm pretty nieve so i didn't expect him to act like that haha

Maybe his brother works for JP Morgan Chase becuase when we were Washington Mutual Bank I had some guy from India asking me inappropriate questions....like where I lived...who I lived with....WHAT I HAD FOR BREAKFAST...(uhhh weird...) unfortunately he was a tech guy so this was over IM while he was remotely on my computer! It was CREEPY. My manager turned him in.

I work in an industry with all men and have never had anyone call me Baby (but that might be because I'm their boss now that I think about it....). I think you did the right thing!

hahaha one of the girls at work said i should've told him i ride around on my camel and work at a strip joint. dan said i should've told him to strap a bomb to himself and detonate (he wasn't too happy haha)
