TV was SO much better when we were younger. I have loved Spongebob since day one, but it's still not the same.

I think cartoons of today have too much adult humor. They instill some naughtiness into kids today.

i'm watching grave of the fireflies right now! it's supposedly semi biographical. my friend has his entire collection and she let me borrow it. i fell asleep watching nausicaa and the valley of the wind last night (i was exhausted) and what i saw was really good. i totally enjoyed castle in the sky and princess mononoke.

I grew up watching Transformers, Thundercats, Voltron and Silver Hawks. Oh yeah, and DuckTales, Dennis the Menace and Heithcliff. Cartoons today (at least the ones for kids) are absolutely LAME. Hell, they don't even have Saturday morning cartoons anymore. Too bad for todays youth.

Oh yeah, and I DO love Futurama and Family Guy and alot of anime. I have a tattoo on each of my legs; one of Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo and one of Sailor Moon.

Hell Yeah, cartoons today suck. I just watched Bugs Bunny, those type of cartoons. I loved waking up Saturday and watching cartoons till noon.

Now i wait till 11:00 and watch Family Guy from 11 till 12.

Maybe it has something to do with todays society and how we push our kids to be more grown up. Another trend I see is when I was a kid we would spend every waking moment outside (when cartoons weren't on of course), usually in the woods making tree forts. Nowadays, kids sit in front of the computer screen playing games or surfing the web. It's really very sad to me to see this happen. I almost never see kids outside playing anymore.

I typed up a big rant about today's youth, but ended up deleting it all because it can be summed up with seven words:

America needs to harden the fuck up.

Bob explain this to me. I don't disagree with you. Times are changing. Kids are becoming decensitized at an earlier age. But what was wrong with the post you quoted? Things had more quality when we were younger. No doubt about that.

Please, Every generation has it's issues. We complain about cartoons today, our parents complained about our having cartoons, their parents complained about something else.

Every generation likes to look back at their youth with rose tinted glasses. And then look at the younger generation and bitch and moan about them. When the truth is, they are just as responsible for the problems.

I think if everyone set boundaries and expectations for our children it would help them grow up to be responsible people. Thats the prob now a days, parents are lazy or too whimpy to put their kids in their place or hold high expectations for them to meet. Without expectation what do we expect them to do? Nuttin... watch these ridiculous violent and/or pointless cartoons all day lol....

There was nothing wrong with the post, I was just typing up how today's kids don't have any awesome cartoons like we used to have. Then I got all side tracked and typed up a big rant lol.

LOL! Is that why everyone blames everyone else for everything?

I do agree every generation has problems, but this latest generation seems to be growing up with no respect for anyone or anything. Parents need to spank their kids, they need to tell them no, and most importantly, they have to let their kids get hurt & dirty once in a while. Today's parents are wayyyy too overprotective.

Getting too OT though, so I'll stop :p

I agree Bob. Definitely a lack of respect. I can't see myself spanking my kids but they will def. be well brought up. I was taught many things early on from my parents that have helped me in many ways to become an adult.

There's a huge difference between a tap and spanking them.
