Subaru Challenge 8-21-10 @ SIA Indiana Plant

Just droppin a note here, dunno if you gals and guys wanna make the trek.

August 21st at the SIA plant(where Legacys/Outbacks/Tribecas are born) we will be doing an ALL SUBARU autocross. Limit of 125 cars. My local region of the SCCA will be doing the timing and scoring and the Subaru dealership I work for is a sponsoring dealsership. We're sitting down with the Solo Chair from the SCCA tonight to iron out logistics. I'll post a flyer and link to registration as soon as I have it. Consider this a "save the date" or "start planning" post. Would be awesome to have you gals out there representin. I plan on pushing the calendars a lil bit for ya too :D

I might try to get out "west" for this. Greg McCance is a friend of mine, and I know he did well at this event last year (and should try to repeat his performance). The last one I did was a South Central Challenge, where a bunch of us from the Maryland/Northern Virginia area "invaded" and not only did we all trophy, but I came home with top honors. :) None of the dealers in the Mid-A sponsor these any more, and the South Central one won't be until late October or mid November. :(

Registration is really slow, and SOA is putting pressure on gizzmo about it. This is likely going to affect future Challenge events if more people don't sign up!

I'm backing out. A couple of reasons why, but the primary one is that I don't want to ruin the event for anyone else. In my experience, when someone shows up with a fully prepped car, it tends to make other people unhappy because they don't feel it's "fair."

Combine that with the 10+ hour drive, and it being the last weekend before I return to work.... and it's better that I just stay home. :(

Hopefully, Folger's Subaru has a South Central event this fall that I can go to instead.

just saw it on Nasioc too, again, too bad. I understand though, long drive.

I'm hoping they understand giving me a month and half or so and expecting me to do all the promotion kinda hurt em in entry count, I can only do so much online promo work ya know. Maybe they'll get a date early next year and do some emailing form the corporate level earlier for increased promo.

we're pretty much gonna have to get dirty to get moneys from Subaru. I drove the standard ST 89 Civic Hatch yesterday and fell in love. I may just have to go that route for the cones and take the wrx road racing (before I mod it to XP without realizing it lol) to maybe try and take some of the Aquilante's moneys :lol:
